Blurry

The concept is good, but the program appears to simply use the zoom on the camera. My phone was a 3GS and the enlargement was much too blurry. My vision impaired brother could not even find the paper to read because the page was too fuzzy and holding the phone caused the camera to go in and out of focus. Ok for some enlargement but not for profoundly needy.

This IS the future of the magnifying-app!
Bac2Bay6

The best & most intelligent magnifier... to date. Just go over its "key features". It delivers! Sure it's costly compared to others but well worth it compared to an actual device with the same feature-set. * Pls add a button to directly send zoomed-in capture to the camera roll, et al. and it'll be 5stars*

Good interface, reading image quality difficult to maintain
Teleted

I like the concept, and this app will be useful in some circumstances. I tried the app first on an iPhone 4, found the best magnification level for me, and switched to white on black. It was usable, but took a bit of care to move the phone over the text and remain in focus as I moved. I tried it on an iPad 2 and it was not as good because the image was less clear and harder to maintain. The smart text feature with magnification turned up to where I needed it wasn't helpful. The image freezes for almost a second at a time as it processes the image to enhance text, so moving the magnification along over text was jerky. The enhancement was very subtle, and did not have a white on black mode. Using the light on the iPhone 4 was useful. In a darkened situation where I need to read something, it would be quite useful. Having just tried a Ruby portable magnifier today, the Ruby was by far much easier to read. The device was designed for that purpose. But at $550, it or something like it might be out of price range, in which case this app could be a fair substitute. I know this app will get more useful as the optics in these devices improve.

Better than expected!
ImpairedVisions

I bought this to compare it with EyeSight, and find this to be a better app. I like that contrast can be adjusted, and also enjoy the scrolling feature. Images are more clear than the more expensive EyeSight, while taking advantage of the iPhone 5's larger screen. EyeSight doesn't yet utilize the larger screen of the iPhone 5, unfortunately. In summary it'a a superior product at a lower cost.

By far, the best magnifying app I have found.

This app is specifically designed for the visually impaired, and works very very well. I have macular degeneration, and I use this app all the time in restaurants, and around the house. It has many adjustments, so you can customize it for your own needs. I highly recommend this app.

Amazing
JJ2059

What is great about this app is it can be rotated. So i can simply plug my i phone to my monitor or TV ( HDMI). Quality is very clear. It is way better than those desktop CCTV electronic magnifier which costs more than $500.

Great but needs update
LittleRedBeemer

This is a fabulous app that many of my visually impaired students use. However, it needs an update as it no longer works correctly after installing the iOS 8.0.1 or the newer 8.0.2. Since the new operating system you can not enlarge or reduce, freeze an image, etc. Please, please fix this because my students rely on this! Thank you!

Horrible adjustment buttons -- hard to use
afsec9

This app is extremely hard to use while holding the camera. The adjustment buttons take forever to activate while holding the camera. The app is a time waster. Save your money buy something else.

Doesn't work
