Reissue the older version until a better update

Ricch199

I would simply request that the company reissue the version of months ago until the update can be fixed. Initially I was optimistic about the correction to the last update but after playing the game quite a lot it is clear that this revision still is terrible. I can't understand why anyone would trade the older version that at least worked properly regardless of a few flaws for these last two updates that have honestly ruined a great game. Or how about reissuing the old version with the single addition of fixing the side pocket drop. At least that was a genuine improvement in the newer versions. But the changes of table perspective, English on the cueball, which was excessive before and very under responsive now, and the ability to play music in the background (the app won't even open now when playing audio) are all tremendous disappointments in the recent update. The stick velocity now is unpredictable regardless of settings and the exaggerated effect of English on throwing the object ball is very unrealistic. The older version didn't affect the object ball at all which is unrealistic but now even a small amount of English has the opposite extreme. The update is just not right and sadly it has resulted in me losing all interest in playing the game. I considered the old version, even with its issues, the best app I have ever seen. That's a radical contrast and I would wager that anyone who plays the real game of pool feels the same way.

Good, but 2 problems

Lynx's Lair

2 problems: 1. When the cue is next to the rail, can't see the whole table without zooming out, which makes everything too small 2. When the computer is stuck with a poor leave (i.e., behind one of my balls or the 8), it takes ball in hand arbitrarily. Please fix! Otherwise, awesome!

Very realistic

ICUSandman

This is by far the most realistic billiard game on the iPhone and iPad. The computer AI is very good and if you set it to hard it will generally make very good choices. The only major issue is that you can't always see the ball your shooting at if the cue ball is up against a rail so you have to rely on the overhead view. Not a big deal but it does prevent you from playing completely in first person view.

Excellent simulation of the game

Eric.Hummel

While the UI elements for switching modes, etc. lack a degree of professionalism, the simulation of the game and that of playing the game are without comparison amongst any of the many other simulations I've tried. Shots are harder near the rail, balls drop as they naturally would (for the most part), and speed control feels very natural. As an avid player of the real game for almost two decades, I wholeheartedly endorse this simulation.

What happened?

justinland

The last update have ruined this game! No cue speed control English doesn't really work, game perspective is crazy now. I'm done with this game till it's fixed. In addition to the fact I think I just bought it again because it didn't detect that my iPad had it already.

Excellent game, but...

InfinityPlayer

First, I start a game, then have to get out of the game for various reasons. When I come back to the game to resume where I left off, it starts from the beginning again. That's frustrating cos I'm usually killing my opponent, and this happens! I really enjoy playing this game. Please fix this, if you can.

Lazy Developer

Just the Fax 3737

Crappy port to ipad. Developer does not bother to update program and this version has no option to stay in the same camera view after you hit your shot making it impossible to get feel. Even the iPhone version had this setting. Rail physics still lacking as linear equation and one vector used to solve complicated 3d problem. Ball spin reversed in a linear way as well. At least spin does reverse and they figured that out. The original iPhone version had this backwards. You can still make impossible bridges and spins, but yet you cannot jump or adjust the contact time (follow through). Please at least update the camera view issue. Do not change view after a shot. When you play pool you continue looking at your shot not immediately jumping up to look from a different angle. I is very annoying.

You killed my favorite game

Jazz200

What happened? I haven't played in a while and made the mistake of updating the newest version. This version stinks! I can't get low enough with my eyesight to the ball to get my feel. Let me decide my eyes view, not the spin. Please switch back to the way it used to be. This game used to be fun but now not so much.

Best ipad pool game

JJ Everett

I bought 6 different pool games. This one isn't the most exciting but seems to have the most realistic physics. There is an aiming aid and in practice modes really cool track lines that helps you understand cue ball control. I love to play pool and am a student of the game. This app to some degree can be used as a learning tool. I wish it would let me move the object balls around in practice mode to practice specific shots. JJ

Two changes would make this awesome sim even awesomer

WickedApps

This is the best pool sim for iOS by a long shot, and perhaps the best $2.99 I've ever spent. I'm a low-A player with about 30 years of shooting experience, so I know good pool physics when I see it. That said, there are two issues that bug the heck out of me, so I'm hoping the devs can make these changes or at least provide an optional setting for them: 1. Don't change the POV after the shot. It's important to "stay down on the shot" and watch the CB-OB contact and resulting angles from the perspective of your original alignment and head position. The current version snaps up to a partial overhead view immediately after the CB is struck, which is jarring and very unrealistic. 2. Allow object balls to be re-positioned in practice mode! Much of the appeal of Virtual Pool is your excellent physics engine, and the advanced exploration/learning we can do with Track Lines on. But it's impossible to set up practice situation shots - I'm often forced to dink an OB ball into an approximate position just to try stuff out. This seems like it'd be an easy feature, so please consider adding it. I'd happily pay up to $9.99 for this app if the above two features were added.
