Exceptional onboard Wi-Fi

Viking’s Wi-Fi exceeds expectations. It is by far the best offered by any cruise line. It is the GOLD STANDARD from which all other maritime Wi-Fi’s will be judged

I am currently on the Viking Sea and this app does not work at all. Upon launching the app, nothing happens.

Antiquities cruise

This is my first cruise and besides the great shore excursions I’m enjoying the smiling service and amenities thank you so much

Spot on App

From embark to debark the Viking App on our phone was very helpful. The added TV app in the stateroom was super easy to use and perfect. Thanks Viking tech crew for doing a super job.

Keep trying....not yet better than paper & pencil

Clunky design based on what IT thinks guests want. Task switch to calendar always starts at Day 1 (grrrrr!); can’t cancel a dining res; etc. Still a bit buggy.....PressReader nice idea but always wants iTunes to charge $$ for complementary pub; dining res gives wrong error messages “less than 2 hours” for attempted res 10 days out.

Very Helpful App

Easy way to keep up with events and get ship info. Works fine.

Overall good, but could use offline functionality for use in ports

The app was easy to use overall, but could be enhanced with offline functionality to allow use onshore. Port maps available within the app while offline would be another good enhancement.

Ok

I love the idea of the app and it worked, but I think they need to make a lot more changes. It seemed super easy to navigate, but I wasn’t able to do a whole lot with it and I’m pretty tech savvy. I tried booking reservations at a specialty restaurant and it only allowed me to book for Saturday & Sunday which both days didn’t really work with our schedule. Went down to the restaurant to ask about reservations for Tuesday & the person at the desk automatically made our reservations. Doesn’t do a good job of showing your schedule days in advance, and don’t bother booking excursions through it because it won’t give you all of the options. It gave me notifications about my excursions every day 30 minutes before the start time, BUT that was pretty much useless because by that time I was already on the tender boat going to the excursion. I did an ocean cruise so not sure if the results would be different with a river cruise.

Technical problems

The app works occasionally on my iPad but almost never on my iPhone. It requires an elaborate sign-in process each time I use it and then fails to connect to the network. I can get my mail and surf the net but the app does not recognize that I’m connected.

Somewhat helpful

Calendar function is helpful, but not completely accurate, for example showed one of my excursions as “wrong date, not available “ when it wasn’t. Also, doesn’t give some info that would be useful like dining room open/close times.
