I love all the new features since I last reviewed a couple years ago. The stickers are cool and I really like all of the new characters that emojis don't have. The only thing is that it's a bit slow to open in regular keyboard mode, but otherwise I like it.

Doesn't support some of my favorite Unicode characters like zero width joiner, zero width space, no-break space, right-to-left override, etc. Otherwise this app has a nice UI.

Exactly What I Wanted: Symbols and Quality

I didn’t want to learn a new way to type, I just wanted access to ALL the possible symbols that are available! That’s what a keyboard is for: inputting characters! This app gives you that, plus preferences to customize how you want the symbol: symbol as is, a numeric code, the HTML syntax, or all of the above. And, MOST IMPORTANTLY: The developer cares enough about the application to KEEP IT UPDATED! It’s NOT a “hit and run” app. So many of the other keyboard apps in the store haven’t been updated for years! Having an UPDATE for the iPhone X ALREADY says that I won’t have to worry about it suddenly not working because it hasn’t been updated! I actually wouldn’t mind buying this app again, just to help the developer (my highest complement). Thanks for a QUALITY app!

Great app with an amazing team behind it

You can only switch from Unichar to another keyboard using the lower left keyboard button. If an app is not updated for use on the iPhone X the bottom bar where that button would be is just a black bar and the button doesn't exist therefore the only way to change it is to go to settings and delete unichar/reinstall unichar. The default keyboard moves the button to the original position when an app isn't compatible. Used this keyboard a lot on my previous phone, but it's a pain in its current state. Update: 1 day after posting my review the developer addressing the issue and the next day an update fixing it was released. Great work.

Good, but missing pi?

I like the keyboard, and I even purchased the paid upgrade. As of yet, however, I've been unable to find the Greek letter pi. One update I would suggest would be an entire section for Greek letter, and possibly a search feature.

So much to transcribe, so little time! UniChar provides all of the symbols and special characters needed for the precise transcription of lecture, research or any other notes in practically any discipline. The more symbols and characters you become familiar with, the greater your ability to condense the complex ideas and concepts you need to interpret and understand.

Unfortunately, this app isn’t useful to me. The main reason it got my attention was the possibility of getting the non-breaking space character (U+00A0), which is a necessity in technical writing. However, the app doesn’t appear to have it.
