Need feedback for interval and chord games
Howarddlx

I like the games, but I was hoping to get feedback for wrong answers when playing the chord progression games or the interval games.

I thought i knew a little bit....

This is not for a beginner or a 30y/o self taught guitar player that never picked up theory in my teens or beyond...there is no difficulty setting or ways to learn the basics. It just throws you in the pool and lets you sink or swim. But, it is free and i assume it is typically used by people with a more intermediate level of theory knowledge. Improve the steep learning curve to help those who are beginners and it could be an excellent app.

Fantastic Advanced Music Theory App
+Tender+

I'm a 40 something musician, have played for enjoyment most of my life and never taken advanced music theory. I love this app and use it daily but it's going to take a lot of practice before I can use many of the features. I wish there was an option to reduce the number of measures for the rhythm and dictation exercises and a feature to turn off the timer. The same goes for the chord progression exercises. An option to start with two or three chords instead of two measures and remove the timer would be helpful for users just starting out. Thank you.

A good start

First off, thank you for creating this app. This is a good, bare-bones ear training app. There are some bugs to iron out, such as some screens that don't keep score properly, or random crashes; and there are some ideas that are not executed well, such as the badges and the score matrix; but the app gets the job done!

Doesn't make a lot of sense...
??????❌❌❌❗️❗️❗️❗️

This app has so much potential. The idea of having dictation practice is enormously helpful... except for the extremely short time limit there is when answering questions. How am I supposed to answer more than one? When it takes 10 seconds to hear the example, and at least 10 to write it down, and you subtract time when an answer is incorrect? Poorly thought out. The time limit is really limiting my learning.

Almost 5/5
DI addict!!

Many great options here to train your ear. I love that the interval training changes the tonic pitch every time so your sense of home pitch changes and makes it more challenging. I have to deduct a star because the dictation doesn't have any settings to lower the amount of notes played. It is far too many notes to remember to dictate. It would be helpful to allow settings which reduce the number of played notes and also a change in meter to spice things up. Overall, a solid ear training app.

Good ideas, poor execution

This app has potential, but still has a long way to go. It needs a tiered approach and configurable exercises. There are several much better apps on the store right now for practicing melodic dictation, chord progressions and sight reading. Also buggy. Occasionally marks correct answers incorrect.

Dictation
@bu!nDig0

I really enjoy this app, however I would like to echo the requests for a off switch for the timer during the dictation so one can focus on accuracy without the pressure of time. Also in the melodic dictation, there are a couple of melodies that go to B3 even though C4 is the lowest option on the screen.

Really helpful, and great for ear training!

This app is awesome! I just had a question about it. Under the “melodic” option of “dictation”, the melodies played often times contain a B4, whereas the keyboard given only goes as low as middle C. Since I’m unable to play the B4, I get the round wrong. Is there a way to access the B4 that I’m not getting, or was there just a mishap with the keyboard? Thank you so much! Again, I love this app!
