Fantastic implementation of a complex board game

Mstewman

I love playing Twilight Struggle with my friend and now we can play it remotely. The pacing and workflow of all the cards is amazing. I can't wait to play more games. If you are a Twilight Struggle fan, or just love strategy games, I encourage you to buy this game and get your friends to buy it so you can play this historically rich and intellectually satisfying game.

Now it's the app I wanted

MetalFaceDrew

Real quick review: Since they addressed the bugs the game plays great for me. I really enjoy how it looks, and even like playing the AI. If you have the physical board game, this is a good way to stay fresh and try out strategies you normally wouldn't attempt in person. If you don't have the board game yet, this is obviously an excellent way to familiarize yourself with it.

Arab Israeli War not working

Qweyesth

Had Israel and three adjacent countries, played Arab Israeli War, should have been -4 to the roll, one for control of each adjacent and 1 for Israel, CPU rolled a 6 and won. How is 6-4 which = 2 in the acceptable "win range of 4 - 6"?

Be wary of expansion/update

Hotspur122345

Twilight Struggle is a great port of a great game, but ever since the expansion/update, the AI -- which used to be fast and efficient -- takes forever to make a simple decision. The game is almost unplayable now (even on the most modern iPads). I'd also second those other critics who say the Turn Zero cards are very buggy. I'm very surprised that Playdek, an otherwise excellent games company, released this into the wild. I guess they wanted something out by Christmas, but if I were you, I'd stay away from updating the previous version until they've fixed the bugs. UPDATE (October 2017): To be fair, the developers eventually fixed the bizarrely buggy release and it plays beautifully well now (and has been for some time). So buy it, buy it, buy it. P.S.: The Turn Zero expansion is quite fun, especially since the weird bugs in it (the AI seemed to forget the special rules) have been ironed out. Would love to see if Playdek can release some more expansions.

Original game. First turn against computer. AR6. I have not used space race but I have played captured nazi scientists. The game will not all me to play my last card as a space race. This is pretty incompetent programming. I cannot recommend this game to serious players.

Multiplayer unplayable, ZERO support

Pravit726726

Giving this a 1 star rating due to the extremely unstable multiplayer. I am unable to stay in a game for more than a few minutes without getting booted out with a message "Network connection lost." I then have to restart the game and rewatch the last turn. This is ridiculous as it's a turn based game anyway. I have never had connection issues with any other game. Developer offered zero support, did not respond to my email nor my message on their forums. My guess is they have simply ceased to maintain their server one year out.

Fix bugs with coup and realignment

Albert 2005

Great game, but the rules implementation is buggy. There is inconsistency in the Interface allowing coup in areas where the insurgent army does not have influence. The official rules PDF states that one does not need to have influence in the territory to start a coup, and sometimes this is the case in the iOS version as well, but other times the interface prevents coups when you dont have influence in the country. It makes playing the game against AI difficult. More like just a learning tutorial for the real boardgame.

Suggestion

Timminventor

Any chance you could swap the the time limits of 6 hours and 1 day (which are not needed) in favor of 60 minutes (common for tournament play) and 35 minutes, for speedy gamers?
