Rigged contest... no buyers here

Twenty20’s contests are rigged and those who are multiple winners are not even average photographers. Seriously, there are some really great photographers posting that do not get any credit. No sour grapes here... I make money with other Royalty Free Stock house... the fact is that there are those who create fake accounts, insiders with multiple friends, and organized groups to give themselves multiple votes. A very sad system and terrible place to try and make any money. You’ll be lucky to make a dime unless you become an insider. Nobody is coming here to buy photos, only to post as many photos as possible (no filtering mechanism) praise each other for mediocre work and make friends. If you’re here to be part of a popularity contest then you’ll love it!

I’m not sure about the algorithm used to tally votes and decide who wins. Honestly it appears to be rigged as the same photographers seem to win the challenges and place in the top 20 even with very amateurish iPhone pics. With that said I have sold a few pics on the site.... for a measly $2.00 each. It is almost an insult to my work.

Popularity not photography

I used to love competing in these challenges but I rarely do it anymore. The same people win the $200 or get in the top twenty no matter the quality of the photo. There are blurry, honestly terrible photos that win because it’s a popularity contest I think... not a photography contest. It’s just frustrating to see some amazing photos not come in the top twenty when they deserve the money and the recognition for their talent ?

I have been with this app for awhile now but for some reason the picture that sale I am not seeing the money transfer to my account anymore. I keep getting emails that people are buying but no money put into my account. I have been with this app for more then two years now and this is the first for me to deal with it. I have three photos that have been pending for two months now and I am not getting any responses back from the company it’s self.

I made an average of 25 cents per license. How is that possible? Either this company is slowly dying or they are taking more than their fair share of the profit from the contributors. Whatever the case, I’d encourage other photographers to avoid this at all costs.

With their new system for sales you don’t even make half as much anymore. I’m not as invested in this app as I used to be.

I USE TO love Twenty20 but the app is a total scam. You used to get at least $2 for every photo sold, they recently changed their payout model and two months in a row have been paid out under $1 for my sold images. Horrible way to incentivize people to want to post their images when they’re making a killing off other people’s images and giving back crumbs to the community. Find other stock sight to sell your images who value their community more and pay them properly!
