The app connects to Xbox One pretty well as of Spring 2017. If it can't connect, try restarting the app and console. If a link won't stream, try a new site. Can't recommend this enough!

The instructions are not the clearest in the world, but I'm an old guy and not patient. Once I had my Samsung smart TV connected to my home Wi-Fi router, it took me a while to figure out how the app does things. Maybe 10 minutes to sign in and get ready to play. Then the app worked fine, and signing in was automatic after that. I played YouTube videos from my iPhone, but for Netflix the phone only controls things until you're signed in. Then you choose your programming and control play back with the TV remote. The Netflix image looks every bit as good as a DVD to me.

Crashes every time under wifi

This worked fine when I made the first purchase. But after a while the app started to crash and was unable to stay on under wifi environment. But supposedly one would have to connect to wifi to cast.
