TunerTool: Just Add It To The "Riffer" App.

K.B.T.

I've had TunerTool for a long time now, and it has served me well in time of guitar tuning trouble. When I don't have my regular tuner or am trying a different tuning without my tuner, I always have my iPhone with me, and TunerTool saves the day. However, with the inclusion of "Riffer", I feel that TunerTool should just be included in Riffer and seen as an add-on of the social network app they make separately. Here is the review I wrote for Riffer that I hope to, someday, see included (which would make this a super, awesome-tastic application): RIFFER REVIEW: (2 out of 5 Stars) UPDATE #1: Another thing to add--including the features in my statement below in the original review--could be the ability to see the levels of the sound that you are recording, so you can get the best sound quality out of a riff. This too: after recording a riff, you should be able to name your own type of genre because the ones provided are not enough. A third thing: In the Discovery Tab, it should show the Profile picture and Riff picture (or something to make it so that people can see the author of the riff better). This could be fixed with a more detailed interface. ORIGINAL: While this app does allow you to upload riffs (Riffer, duh), it doesn't do a great job in the "social network" aspect. Sure, I'm able to see other musicians in my area (or anywhere else) with the Map tab, but I cannot do a lot of things other social networks can. For instance, I can read comments and follow people, but I cannot see who has favorite-ed my riff. That needs to be reworked because if you can go to someone's profile who likes a riff, you can see their riffs and whatnot. Also, as a "social network", I'd like to see the inclusion of profile sections like displaying favorite bands, influences, played instruments, etc. Here is another thing that should be included: obviously, 15 seconds is too short; 30 seconds (the time it takes a ringtone to fully play out) should be the initial start. Then, if someone wants to buy more time, let them buy an extra one minute and thirty seconds. This would make the maximum time 2 mins. And the last major thing I would like to see included would be "status updates" or something like a quick "mini blog" somewhere along the lines of Twitter or Facebook (with limited character space). It would be cool to see someone talk about their instrument, or whatever they want really. This would add a more personal aspect to it and give people more incentive to use the app. A social network for musicians could be a big hit. Being able to listen to people's music that they record on the fly (or possibly upload later on) is a neat concept. As far as I see it, this has a lot of potential, but for right now, it is underutilized.
