TriX changes the way of casual gaming, bringing in the Coolness, Her Majesty!

Casual games are natural, yet they have been so UNCOOL for most of the Smartphone Era.
Tetris was the Word. Arcanoid, Snake II – now you remember, what COOL means!
Am I just nostalgic? No way! This is purely analytical conclusion.
So where did this coolness came from?
Any activity creates an identity implied on those involved into it. Identity is roughly an associative field with judgments applied to it in its' relation to other identities. What were the associative fields of Tetris and Arcanoid? Literally they were all about Innovation and Futurism (as they are now a part of nostalgic retrofuturism wave). Tetris players were people of the future, daring revolution of Tech. And yet Tetris IS A CASUAL game.

And what we have now? Kindergarten-style candies, grandma-style sudoku, cartoon character which are so shallow that it turns them into being vulgar! And clones, clones everywhere! Who are the people playing these games? Are they cool? Remember! YOU ARE WHAT YOU PLAY!

There was an interesting attempt of bringing in the coolness to casual gaming not so long ago by one game about manipulating small colored circles... Which turned into a complete failure to awful uncooleness because of its designers misunderstanding what COOL means. Designers swizzled preconstructed identity of a “regular hipster” (how they imagined it) to the gamer. However it is a popular misconception that the hipster identity can be adopted. Original coolness of being a hipster was a coolness of being brave to publicly state one's superior coolness to others. Which actually meant BEING DIFFRENT. Which has nothing to do with serial reproduction of same image proposed by the designers (of mentioned game).

DIFFERENT is a key word here. Roots of coolness are in Darwin's Theory of Evolution. “Cool” equals “Superior”. And superior can't be regular. Yet one CAN be regularly superior. Cool on a casual basis. Like a Tetris player.

Mobile gaming is not anymore cool by default for more than a decade now. And watch out for identities of games you download. Cool game must give you a chance to CREATE an identity (RPG boom here) – or – better – provide a field for you to exercise your real self. And no identity swizzling, please.

Plain minimalism of TriX plays really well here. As well as its' throughout customization features. TriX does not provide a ready identity. It is cool in the absence of uncool features, yet providing nice, user-friendly turn-based logical gameplay (which is cool). And what is more important – it provides a field for you to project and compare your coolness with others.

So, basically, this is how you play TriX.
1.Get familiar with game mechanics in Levels Mode.
2.Practice difficult game-cases in Custom Levels.
3.Create your Custom Color Scheme.
4.Strive for a world record in Arcade.
5.???
6.Everyone sees your Colors in Leader Boards.
7.PROFIT!!!

Have a nice play and... stay cool.
