So, I'm home. I've done the math. I had planned on staying in fleabag rooms for about $75-$100/night. (Tight budget) What I averaged, however, for 1 night (Tybee Island) in a very nice island bungalow on the beach, 1 night (Myrtle Beach) in a luxury condo resort (first time with valet parking), 2 nights (Hilton Head) in a beachfront efficiency, and 1 night (Wilmington) in a very nice downtown best western plus, was $73/night. Thank you, trivago!
very poor user experience

I did a search for hotels from a Saturday to a Monday for Penn Station area NYC. Results came up in order of closest to furthest. That is where the good part ends. I tried several hotels and what I got is: dates never transferred to booking site correctly; booking site did not respond (Orbitz), booking site got dates and number of days wrong (hotels.com); booking site could not search the hotel at this time (Travelocity); pricing was not the same at booking site even after correcting dates (Expedia). Basically no luck at all so far. When you change dates at a booking site, your search is reset and you get another big list of hotels (ie. start all over again).

This APP gives you a lot of good information. Only once in a while you can't fine the price Tivago suggests. I like it!

The prices are the same and some hotels are much higher than they shown in other apps.

Tried to fill out personal info. Entered my last name and got "one field does contain an invalid entry". Tried on both the app & logging into the site from my computer, neither would accept my name (it's a common word). Tried to enter my state and New York is missing from the pull down. Impossible to manually enter. Done now, deleted the app.
