It's a bit misleading because while the app is free if you want any tours you have to pay around $7, which was not apparent until I tried to download a tour. You can see some sites on a map that don't require downloading the tour but they are limited or have no info about them. But this app has potential.

I recently used this app for my trip to NYC. My favorite part was that I could download the maps and tours (including audio) to the phone and not worry about having cell phone reception while wandering the city. That is the most frustrating thing with these type of apps usually, but not with this. Simple and easy to use. They seem to update it often with new cities, which is nice for those that travel places often. The voice guided tour is also done very well and keeps you interested. Great all in one app!

Just used this on my trip to Miami Beach and the audio tours and list of food locations around me helped us find a great cuban place. I love finding new apps like this and this is for sure a little gem.

This is a very cool app that allows you to access all kinds of travel information for wherever you may be going.For a variety of cities, the app gives you reasturant reccomendations, hotel reccomendations, and ideas for places just to get a drink. Most importantly this app gives a variety of tours including audio features for major cities and tourist destinations around the world, and you can get the audio in a variety of languages. The best part of all is that each and every one of these tours that you have access too is absolutely FREE. This is a very resourceful app that I would highly recommend them.

Thanks to AppGratis for informing me about TourPal! This app looks wonderful! Who wouldn't like a private audio tour guide in various cities around the world?! Even if you're not visiting another place, it's really interesting to hear the tours.The app and tours are provided in English and a number other of languages (I'm excited to see Hebrew!), and no matter the language, the audio is clearly audible and understood. Some tours are meant for a specific site, while others are walking/driving tours. The tours are clearly labeled with any special instructions (ie: if you must use a car to move between sites). Each tour is also clearly plotted on a map. There is a choice to stream the tours with one's internet data connection or download tours to one's device so that there's no need for Internet. I really enjoy reading the tour guide's bios and being able to rate their tours! There's just one big problem: the app crashes a lot, usually when I try to open an entire city to download/view. I managed to download one tour to my device from the "featured tours" menu (even though most seems to crash -- and despite being on my device and independent of Internet, the app still oddly crashes. Clearly there is some kind of tech issue within the app that is not being caused by my device. As a beta-tester of various apps, I am familiar with common ways to fix crashing; I have tried to force quit, hard-reset my device, and reinstall TourPal, which did not resolve the issue at all. I hope you guys can fix the problem ASAP because I'll be going on vacation soon and would love to use your app! I'm using an iPhone 4s with iOS 7.1.2. Suggestions: 1) I'd love for the maps to provide directions within your app rather than using the Apple Maps app. This way people can opt to pre-download the directions (if they won't have Internet) or have the map use GPS to track when the person is leaving so that the directions just pop up automatically and lead them to the next place. Maybe you could also hook up with Waze and integrate their maps/user accounts into your system! This way people can opt to use their own Waze account, sign up for an account, or choose to get directions without an account. I use Waze all the time, which has wonderful features. 2) In addition to audio, it'd be cool if photos could be added to illustrate what we're supposed to be looking at. 3) I'd like to see a way to download all of the tours at once. 4) Please add more social networks to the share feature! Twitter, Google+, Foursquare, and other popular sites. Also, more social features would be wonderful, such as the ability to check-in, compose posts, etc. In the tour guides' bios, perhaps you could provide their social network URL's and/or a way to comment within the app to ask questions about the tour's information. 5) It'd be wonderful for users to be able to add/revise information for each tour site, such as links, hours of operation, a phone number, whether it's closed for renovation, whether the site is entirely, partially, or not accessible for people with disabilities, photos of the site, whether there is paid/free parking, cost of admission/parking, and any other useful/important information. 6) I'm not understanding how the hotel/restaurants/points of interest feature works since it seems that Apple Maps opens when looking for directions. Am I missing something? 7) Can you clarify whether the entire app is free just by opening it, or is it only the individual tours that we download? And if we need to delete/reinstall after the free period (ie: to make space on a device while not on vacation), can we restore our free purchase? Please explain this better on the App Store description and within the app itself. Thanks for the freebie. I will certainly tell people to purchase your app after the free period ends! Even though I cannot use the app due to the crashing, what I was able to use was highly impressive and useful. I am certain that you will fix the crashing problem ASAP. I hope that additional tours for current cities will be added as well as new cities! I am awarding TourPal 4 stars to give you guys the benefit of the doubt regarding the crashing. When you fix it, I'll let you have that last star! ;-)

I bought this while in Washington DC. By the description, it’s just what I wanted - except the audio doesn’t work. It was too cold and there wasn’t enough time to go hunting for another app. TourPal really affected my tourism, negatively. TourPal - give me back my money, seriously. This was a one-time deal and I’ll have no use for your fix at a later date.
