Laggy AD FEST! (I use ad blocking VPN to fix)
Gally 99

Considering that this is part of SportsEngine and that organizers already PAY to use the app, the idea that they would then ALSO put up all these lousy pop-up ads everywhere is obnoxious! NO, I am NOT going to pay a monthly fee to SportsEngine to stop ads for the few tournaments a year I need to follow. No need, really, when my subscription to Nord VPN blocks them anyway! Update: the developer responded by saying that app was developed after the tournament registration system the organizers use. SO? Organizers choose to use AND PAY FOR the the SYSTEM exactly BECAUSE it has a player/parent/customer facing app! This is just another case of Comcast/NBC/SI trying to take money out of all available pockets! Pay for development? Four years later and the bracket view is still a big blank sheet you have to pan around on to find what you are looking for, and you can’t even zoom out! The rest of the interface is largely unchanged in that time.. you have to keep going back to search if you want to follow a different team in a different tourney. WHAT development? The fact remains that the end user experience is poor because of a big corporate money-grab strategy. Want to FIX the lag? Run an ad blocking VPN, and PRESTO! smooth navigation because it isn’t spending all it’s time and MY data plan downloading ads that POP UP FULL VOLUME trying to sell me a truck when I’m trying to figure out the next field I need to schlep my kid’s stuff to! You will still get the timed, but mercifully silent and easily dismissed “tired of ads?” nag, but that is just built in and won’t cost you data or near as much time and frustration. I delete this stupid app every time I’m done with a tourney and only re-download it when I need to.

I have used this site many times but this week was the last straw. We like to follow our grandson’s tournaments but this week the App let us down. There are no scores, either from yesterday or today, no standings and no brackets!! The game that ended an hour before, it says the it’s still being played and it’s in the first quarter!!! It does that for every game! Extremely disappointed!!

Great App!!

Easy to use, hate the ads

Title of review says it all. Ads are force down your throat. Cannot click out of them.

Easy peasy app

Good APP

A small fix would put it over the top give us the ability to zoom the data presented so that those of us who have crappy eyesight can read the small print!!!

Poor Functionality
Wish it was better...

Look- if I told someone “I need you to create an app that downs exactly one thing poorly, lacks basic functionality that you would just assume would be included, and also please make it hard to use, and then to cap off the poor user experience, put in a ton of intrusive ads” and they gave me this- I’d rate it 5 stars. But I want two things from a scheduling app- I want to be able to find the schedule I’m looking for, and I want to be able to sync it to my calendar. This app mostly fulfills one of those requirements- I left my earlier review from a couple years ago below… search function hasn’t improved. ————————— Pretty frustrated with this app- downloaded to follow my son’s tournament this upcoming weekend and can’t find it on the app. It came up on the website, so not sure where the disconnect is. Not much of a point to the app if it doesn’t have the tournaments in it.
