Education $3.99 MediaKube, LLC iPad

TouchMath Touching/Counting Patterns teaches single digit number values using the one-of-a-kind multisensory TouchMath system -- the ONLY math program that uses the actual numeral as a manipulative. Each numeral from 1 through 9 has TouchPoints corresponding to the digit's value.

As students count the TouchPoints, they associate numerals with real values. They learn that a numeral (3, for instance) is not just a squiggle on a page. It represents a quantity such as three baseballs, three ladybugs, three starfish or three TouchPoints.

"PRO" VERSION vs. "FREE" VERSION
This Pro version has no in-app purchases and all holiday themed TouchPoint packs are unlocked. Perfect for schools using Apple's Volume Purchase Program! (In the free version of this app these extra packs cost more to purchase as an IAP.)

Great App for Early Learners!
Hands-On Learner

This app really makes learning and understanding counting math concepts fun and effective using games.

Is this for kids?
mamachick16

There needs to be improvements with the kids this is meant to target in mind. Kids who are starting in touch math with counting are not able to follow the multiple step instructions to “touch done” then “touch continue”- they don’t know how to read. The content is fine but it definitely needs work on how a kid using it navigates the app. As is, I have to be there with him and so it loses its game vs work appeal.

Love this app. I wish it was customizable so students could practice with only the numbers they have difficulty on without having to always start at one.

Not worth the purchase
TerriArb

I don't believe that it is worth purchasing just to get extra Touchpoint packs. For the cost of the Pro, we should at least receive the addition of giving students an opportunity to practice addition and subtraction. I am not happy with this purchase and regret not just sticking to the Lite version.

TouchMath Adventures Pro provides multi-sensory support for children who are learning the touch point sequence by utilizing all the learning styles (auditory, visual, and kinesthetic). With bright colored numbers and automatic sound and actions after the student touches the correct point leaning becomes fun and attractive to their eyes. At first the students are introduced to a story/setting about a training station in Earth’s orbit where your student will be trained by a robot. Throughout the learning activity the robot will be giving the students directions on how to touch and count the touch points. The robot will then model the touching sequence followed by the direction for them to do it. The activity blocks the student from touching the touch points in the incorrect order. Once the touch points are touched and counted correctly the robot reinforces the student with praise. Once the students learn the skill of touching and counting the touch points in the correct sequence, they can continue using the various Touch Math Adventures Apps to work on addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. I highly recommend this app to teachers and parents who want to incorporate technology and provide a multi-sensory approach to learning Touch Math.

Disappointed
Squidy Curls

I have been using Touch Math for years so I was excited to see an app. I am SO disappointed that it is only learning & placing touchpoints. For $5.99 I was expecting at least some addition & subtraction problems. Don't waste your money!!!

Rip off

I love Touch Math. For $5.99, I thought we were getting the system... You know, how to add?! This is ONLY how to place the touches on the digits. My 6 year old mastered this in less than 10 minutes. "Chapter 1" teaches where to place the touches. "Chapter 2" the child practices placing the touches in the correct order. That's it! No math...for $6! My fault for misunderstanding what I was buying & for not reading the other review! The "extras" are themed touch marks! What?! Where is the app for learning what to do with this knowledge? :(

Sound gone?
Lifeskills tricks

In my special needs classroom, I loved having this to help the students master placement of touch points so that I could teach touch math lessons. I'm bummed because we no longer have sound for this app. No longer engaging as an independent center. I want this to be remedied...I rarely spend money on apps. Loved it, but now it is useless.

What they said...

I agree with the other reviewers. This was a very disappointing waste of 6 bucks. Oh well, caveat emptor.

Same as free version

Do not spend $$ on this version. This app has chapters 1 & 2, which is what the version contains. Download the Lite version instead.
