Great app

I love the app however i just wish it were more efficient toggling between adding and typing bubbles. I would also add a feature thag allows u to connect bubbles after they are made. Overall nice app. Thanks.

Quite Good, But Needs Work

Let's start with the good: If you're looking for a mind-map app, I wouldn't hesitate in recommending you start with this one. Not only is it free, it's better than many of the paid apps. Yes, there is an in-app purchase option, but it looks like the app is totally free and unlocked unless you want to save more than three mind-maps, in which case, you'd buy the in-app purchase. That's totally fair. In fact, I think it's a great system. Also - this app works quite well on both the iPhone and iPad. Overall, this app is quite good, but the interface needs a bit of refinement. For example, if you click the settings icon, a menu pops up. The only way to close that menu is to click the settings icon again. Usually, in most apps, clicking outside of the menu will close it. The show/hide ignores its previous status and always opens as "show" when the app is launched. And the black background (seen when fully zoomed out) doesn't match the white background of the mind-map. Also, the look of the bubbles could use a bit of professional polish. It looks like it's a child's app, but really, it's quite powerful. Like I said... the app needs work. And yet, I'm rating it 4 stars because despite its flaws, this is a well done and powerful app. I really hope the developer works on refining the UI. This could easily be a five star app.

Loving this iPad app

Easy to use. Very intuitive. Perfect for a quick brainstorming session.

Small canvas is limiting

jabberlope

I've tried several other mind mapping software options and once you get past the fluff and 3d effects they all have their problems. Total Recall is the best I've seen yet on iOs, except the size of your canvas should grow with the size of your mind map. It's a bit frustrating to start really diagramming lots of bits only to run out of space. Still, 5 stars. And maybe bigger maps?

Great start

This app is a really good start. It's easy to use and I love the auto arrange function. Improvements: better file sorting options would be helpful; the ability to expand and reduce portions of the map; an undo function for that accidental removal of a bubble; the ability to merge maps or portions thereof would be awesome.

The good stuff

I think this app is off to a great start. With just a few more improvements, it would be my must-have mind-mapping app. 1. Bigger spaces for maps. The canvas you are given for mapping is not big if you want to do very detailed maps. EDIT: the website for the developer says the canvas will expand as it gets filled. This was not working for me, but after I forced the app to quit and relaunched it, that function now works. 2. The ability to sort maps in the left pane. This is a simple organizational thing, but it could be a huge benefit. 3. iCloud support. I use this on multiple iOS devices. Having it take advantage of iCloud syncing would be awesome. Beyond that, this program is awesome. It is easy to use, pleasing to look at, and free to try. I like it. I paid for the full version.

Great for most simple idea maps.

Worth a download if you want to make a much simpler chart to show your thoughts. A suggestion would be to have different kinds of mind maps like flow charts or an auto-adjusting circle map (increase in size and difference in shape to conform to text/bullet points).

Refreshing App

Does what it says intuitively and with ease. Like the ability to make a mind map fast and export or send via email in variety of formats. Auto expand and auto positioning is really cool. Would be nice if the white space between bubbles could be configured to automatically be more compact rather than so spread out, but that is getting fairly picky as you can always space the bubbles manually and not use the auto positioning. Cloud save (eg Google Drive) would also be nice. All around though, this is a great find and I recommend. Nice job developers, very refreshing and appears bug free!

Frustrating-don't get it

LoveeeLaugh <3

I spent like 3 hours making a huge and intricate map and then I accidentally pressed the play button and it ruined my entire project. It completely destroyed all of my formatting and the worst part was, there's no way to undo it. I had to start all over and it took forever. It was a complete waste of time.

? crashed, lost work

Sigma12686

Be VERY careful of this app. I was just testing it out and it crashed and closed when I opened the app up again, my work was GONE? NOT A STABLE APP?
