I played the original when it came out and this is the exact game but on the phone. I have no complaints about this game. Yes, the controls are a bit hard to get used to but that's just due to the nature of the game. PERFECT PERFECT PERFECT!

I used to play the original Tomb Raider all the time until I moved out of my parents home. I'm so excited to have it on my phone now, and I was happily surprised with the update in graphics as well as having TR:Gold!

I absolutely LOVE the original Tomb Raider games and this is just awesome to have. Needs some tweaking to get the controls to work better, but it brings back some awesome gaming memories.

Plis fix the palace of midas because when a try to put the gold before open de door the 3 gold gon just missing end can pass this level i am trough on this level fix end i gonna give you a 5*

I have the 2013 reboot game and after beating it I was curious about the older tomb raider games. Luckily TR 1 and 2 are both on the App Store for a great price. I decided to start with this one. I'm currently on level 7 (Palace Midas), and I love this game so much. My only complaint is with the controls. Yes, they do take some getting used to. But the thing is, there are many timed puzzles, and the controls make them difficult to complete. Sometimes Lara walks when the walk button is disabled, and sometimes her jumps are delayed. Because of that it took me awhile to do the timed door puzzle in Colosseum (another reviewer had trouble with this part). Now, I'm stuck at the fire puzzle in one of the doors of Palace Midas. You have 10 seconds to jump 5 blocks to the other side before the fires start burning again. But with the delayed jumping, need to constantly move the camera, and the controls in general, the farthest I've gotten was to the 3rd block. It would have been great if the timer was extended, I guess they really didn't fumble with the game at all! Overall this is a great game as long as you have the patience I don't have. :)

Guys... there is a bug or a glitch, I don't know, within the game on iOS, and it has happened to me twice. First on the lost valley part, where you have to pick up the three pieces for the thing to close up the rush of water. I picked up the three pieces, went to put them there, and at the last one, something happened, and it didn't take the key. Went to inventory, and it wasn't there. I went to the places I'd picked them up from, and they weren't there. The same thing happened at the cistern part, with one of the silver keys. Please fix this. I have started the game twice because of this issue.

I have never been so disappointed with an app. The controls are impossible to use. I tried adjusting them in every way possible and still it is terribly frustrating to just move around... forget about timed jumping! It takes forever to complete the most mundane task. On top of that, the game does not save!!! Developers must know this is awful, thats why they only charge a dollar. I would avoid this game if i were you.
Music won't play and directional control issues.

The game is great, it takes me back to my childhood. I would rate 5 stars except I have two major problems with the game that many other players are experiencing. First off is the music. All I'm getting are in game sound effects and some of the background noise from the very first level all throughout the game. Would really like if this issue were corrected to bring back that old game experience. Second issue I'm having is with the controls. The directional controls are awful, both in size and in the layout. This game would perform way better with a digital joystick than with the current directional pad. The game has become an unnecessary challenge due to the directional pad being so faulty. I hope this issue will be fixed in the near future. Also the option to increase the size of the controls would be great too.
