Coins and Stars Don't Work

Cute idea, but when my daughter completes an activity the coins and stars are not adding to her balance. She wants to get items that require coins but can't because the balance is perpetually stuck at 0. It is disappointing that we paid for the full version only to find that it doesn't work.
