Pretty but slanted

DSnow3

The aesthetics of the app are great but the news stories skew mainly to the left. They need to have more balance in their choice of articles.

Communist progressive news

Luke0615

App layout and function is great, but that's where it ends. The news is just like the NYT, Slate, Buzzfeed, and China's communist controlled xinhua (people's daily). There is no fair coverage or conservative thought. This is MSM (mainstream media) repackaged as msnbc. It was advertised as thoughtful and throughly researched media with a historic perspective. It's just communist propaganda written for demagogue leaders.

Biased. Too bad.

Every story has an agenda. No balance of argument. Too bad. Good concept well presented. But no integrity.

Agenda-driven

The headlines read like op-ed pieces. This is commentary rather than news. Please trust your audience to draw their own conclusions once you have presented them with historical context, or don't call yourself a news app. Of course, everyone is biased. But there is a difference between trying to inform, holding neutrality up as an ideal, and treating all historical events as though they fit perfectly into your progressivist view of history. That's just as dishonest as pretending to be personally neutral. All we are saying, is give nuance a chance.

Could have been so good.

Interesting, visually appealing and, yep, biased indeed. Thank you for the heads up, previous reviewers, but I needed to evaluate it myself. Same conclusion. Sad that outlets all take the same easy route.

Designed well, but the articles are too far left

Wardog27372729

The articles are mostly opinion pieces. It would be nice if they at least threw some moderate articles into the mix. For now, Timeline is mostly the liberal equivalent to Fox News.

Very lightweight news

art_racer

Timeline serves up a limited menu of simplistic news stories. If you want twitter sized news, this is it. If you want some depth to the news this ain't it.

App Of The Year

LiamTheGooner

I rarely rate apps, but this one deserves a shout, I am hopeful they release an IPad version soon, I don't necessarily think this will turn on anyone out there to down load the app, but I really think you should download it anyways... The subject to my not so helpful review should tell you all you need to know.

Heavily biased...does not live up to its promise

MoobyWorld

I heard about this app on Thrillist, which I generally find to be an entertaining and informative site. They rated this app as one of their 25 "must haves" for 2015. So I read the App Store description and think, sounds like a neat concept. I've often noticed that once a major event happens, it seems almost impossible to find anything dated before the event to get information on the persons and places involved. I was hoping Timeline would be a factual aggregator that the user would drive to learn. Instead, this app is nothing more than a collection of opinion pieces with scant factual citation and heavy liberal bias. Few people and self-purported news sites know what it means to simply present facts and let the reader draw their own conclusions. "We can't have that, better to tell you what to think." NO THANKS--DELETED.

Fair representation of facts

Eddie Tragic

Everyone's entitled to their own opinion. They are NOT entitled to their own facts. This app provides a fair representation of the facts.
