Every child loves to cook!

What a great way to teach math and have a child think that they are a real chef! Great idea! Love it!

Adorable and educational!

This is such a fun way to practice early counting skills- the ability to make our own recipes is our favorite part. I like the parental gate feature as well, thank you!

Needs work

Lbrasch

My son is 3 and likes this game, but constantly struggles putting the ingredients in the bowl or pot or whatever. I tried to help. I always feel a bit ridiculous when I can't figure out a children's game, but this one was pretty tough. You have to get the ingredient in the perfect spot before it will go in, which can leave little ones pretty frustrated when playing.

Needs more recipe accuracy

This game is very cute and can be a great way to teach kids counting and how to make some recipes. This game however puts very random items together in the same recipe to create fake foods, which I think would be more effective if it put real items together to make an actual real life meal. The sillyness of the fake meals detracts from reality a bit too much and could be misleading to kids too young to know better. Oh well.

Good game but crashes

Xaffect

Kids love it but it keeps crashing on iPad mini.

Okay

You are only adding 1 and the food is kind of weird. But it seems pretty good.

Response from Dish Creator of Chef App at Tiggly

Numerous tests and focus groups are made before we release our apps. We have a ton of research behind every app we make. One of our co-founders is an Education & Psychology assistant Professor who teaches Development of Mathematical Thinking at Columbia University in NYC. she conducts numerous controlled tests with children backed by current research. In a nutshell, most of the children we test Chef on hoot with laughter at the whacky dishes they help to make. The fact that the dishes are so strange seems to tickle their funny bone. A tiny percentage have no reaction. The game is to help children to learn math but it is also meant to entertain them along the way. The idea of making real dishes was an idea we thought through but found it was not nearly as fun for the child. Tiggly likes to make people laugh and learn, so we hope this app can achieve both. Thank you for your comment as we are always interested in getting feedback. Maybe in another future app we’ll have something more about cooking than counting…….we shall see- :)
