Thank goodness I check for new releases every day, and I am thrilled that one of my favorite developers finally released a new one. You play Lady Pearson; and your niece, Larisa, embarked on an archeological trip to Tibet. You discover that your niece, along with her entire crew, have disappeared during a snow storm; you now set off to Lhasa to investigate her disappearance. The graphics are pretty clear, but not as sharp or finely detailed as other games. The artwork appropriately portrays an Asian environment as you travel past the tiered pagodas, ancient temples with writings, dragon-like statues, and hanging lanterns. The colors are heavy on shades of red, gold, browns, and some greens to accentuate an Oriental experience. There are three modes of difficulty exclusive of the option to customize your settings; in the second mode, at least I do not have sparkles in active areas. The inventory is labeled; so far, I have not had to assemble items. The teleport map, which is the compass icon, gives smooth travel; it indicates available tasks for the first two modes of difficulty. You have a scroll with two tabs; the "Notes" tab records light story progression, and the "Objectives" tab updates your tasks. Transition between scenes is smooth and quick; locations are labeled as you travel. The HOS are varied; you have word lists with slight interaction and silhouette shapes to find. Items used are relative to the Asian theme. One item to find within each word list is a morphing object, a feature synonymous with this developer. You can switch to Mahjong instead. The puzzles are varied; one type is to switch positions of adjacent triangles to complete a picture. You collect a multitude of items such as gold medallions throughout the locations; they might morph so beware. You also play a bonus chapter, and you are given a few extras. Overall, it's pretty clear that this gem is worth playing!

This game is worth playing for the absolutely gorgeous graphics and electrifying cut-scenes, but it wasn't a very sophisticated game. It did have a left-handed mode and 3 levels of difficulty. There wasn't a true journal but you had notes and regularly updated objectives. There were 4 types of collectibles. The storyline was interesting. There were plenty of locations and a marked, if so desired, teleport map to transport you there without any lag time. All inventory was labeled but there were no plus items to assemble. This was an HO-heavy game, and mostly all of those scenes were word lists. Some of the objects morphed in the HO scenes. However you could choose to play mahjong instead. The mini-games and puzzles had a nice variety, but there was a bit of boring rotational stuff. It's always good to keep trying so you improve on those as well. You also had a magic staff which was powered by different colored crystals, which you obtain as the game progresses. You get to fight monsters, open gates and locks, create elixirs, fix equipment, etc. I deducted a star because I felt the game was short, even with bonus adventure. Also, if you didn't use an inventory item in the exact right spot, it was finicky. I would have loved wallpapers in the extras section, because the graphics were so magnificent! Note to Snooper: no major RATS but there is a big snake! It's not that bad though. I am confident that you can play. For the low price and the magnificent scenery this game was worth it. It's just not a 5 star game. Lynxie sends ❤️?? to the Dream Team Elite, especially the fabulous KimTwilight, Snooper, and Dracyy. Keep up the great reviews, everybody!

Well done! ??

Thanks to Artifex Mundi for another really good HOPA at a very reasonable price. The game is interesting, plays well, no glitches, unique puzzles, good length. Regarding reviews by the so-called Dream Team Elite..here and on most BF games...I prefer to discover all a game has to offer on my own. That's most of the fun. I skip them now as their reviews many times contain spoilers along with personal chat. Maybe they should move on to a blog or other forum.

Great Game

Have not finished but am thoroughly enjoying this game. Thanks Kim for alerting gamers to other options than BF games. This is a pleasure to play. Look forward to any new games for IPad from this developer.

So-so

I'm amazed at all the 5 star reviews for this. I bought the game because of the rave reviews. Yes, the graphics are nice. But there is very little plot and the game is overloaded with hidden object mini games. And the hidden object games repeat the same scenes and very and over. And if there's a guide, I was unable to find it. I do not recommend buying this.

Just OK game
Morrighan012

I give this game 2.5 stars rounded off to 3 due to beautiful graphics. Based on stellar reviews, I purchased this game right away and now regret it. It was chock full of HOS, most of which were word lists. Scenes in some HO were repeated. Boring! There was very little interaction with other characters, you pretty much just wonder on your own through different locations. On the plus side, graphics were nice and clear, very bright and colorful, music was pleasant also. I thought this wasn't a very "smart" game and it didn't always make sense, like when you had to get rid of poisonous spider by making a bucket (!) of a sleeping potion for it to drink. Also didn't like some of the puzzles, they were complicated and confusing. Artifex mundi is a great company, but this game wasn't their best creation.

Great

Nice graphics. A little old but beautiful.

Ok.....not a favorite

I absolutely love Artifex Mundi games. They're top quality. However, it seems they're suddenly relying on ho scenes heavy. Used to be allot more adventure, puzzles but now there's a ho scene every few steps. It's boring. If you love ho scenes you'll love this game. If you're looking for an amazing, top notch quality game in this genre please check out FIVE-BN GAMES! You will not be disappointed! Lost lands series are incredible and New York mysteries series! They will definitely spoil you though! Good gaming! I tried to finish this game several times and end up quitting after 20 minutes every time due to excessive hos! Every 3 steps there's an hos! Not feeling this one. Looks like art. Mundi either merged or was bought again due to the end initials changing once more in their name. The game they put out after was top notch though! Killed this one with ho scenes and awful repetitive music!
