The Yoga Sutras by Patanjali is an incredible resource for anyone interested in Yoga. This app is a swiss army knife study guide complete with a searchable sanskrit dictionary, and audio chanting of every verse.

Unlike the book form, you can now easily scan through its contents by topic, etymology, translation, and commentary. You can listen to each verse, and memorize them with ease.

This project took a year and a half researching and translating this ancient text and compiling it into an pocket sized tool. Reading from Edwin Bryant, B. K. S. Iyenger, Swami Satchidinanda, the author's aspiration was to write a sober commentary. A commentary that offers a logical approach to some of the more phenomenal things discussed such as levitation, immortality, and enlightenment.

The app seems great but it doesn’t fill the entire screen on an iPhone 11, an update for iPhone X and higher would be great. Also, I’d love to be able to scroll left and right between sutras, rather than having to use the buttons. Also, in dark mode the top and bottom bar are still white. It would be so great if these things got updated! Thanks

I have followed the creator of this app for some time on Instagram, and have cherished his comments on the Yoga Sutras, as well as the peace that radiates from his practice and countenance. Without knowing he was working on this app, I went searching for something like it, but nothing struck me as deeply as his thoughtful commentary. This is a real purchase and not a solicited review. It's the best Yoga Sutra app I've found (as well as less expensive than others I've tried.) -Ken aka the headless_buddha on IG.

I treasure this. I have read other translations of and commentaries on Patanjali's Yoga Sutras; none of which capturing the spirit of the sutra... That soul connection that says "yes!". This does that for me. It resonates and vibrates with my nature and I'm sure it will with others because I am not unique or special. I love this app. I am thankful for the time the love and the dedication it took to create this; for the benefit of others. Selfless service. It's just beautiful.
