Eagerly expected each week

Would love to pick up where I left off.

Great magazine — been a subscriber since 2001 — and the app does its job in presenting it. One hangup: If I close the app in the middle of reading an issue and resume later, my place is completely lost. I always arrive at the main screen with all the issues when I reopen the app, and when I select the issue I was reading, I’m taken to the table of contents instead of where I left off. The app didn’t always behave this way, and I’d love to see it go back to remembering where I left off so I can stop feeling like I have to read the whole issue at once or lose my place.

Love the mag, not so much the app

Consistently the "10 things" fails to load, instead reverting to where it was before, and frozen there. Have to delete & reinstall the app to get things back. Minor detail: its long overdue to update the covers pix on the opening screen! Also we were looking for an android app for my wife's galaxy 6, but couldn't get it to load. Even the tech at Verizon store couldn't make it load!

Great Content & Perfect for iPad

EvilGenius2

I’ve been reading the week for 10 years. It’s like a quirky sparknotes for world news. The content is concise yet impactful, and covers a wide variety of topics. Read the Week, and you’ll roam confidently among the informed! Sometimes it’s slants more one way than the other, but they do a better job than most at presenting both sides of a political topic. The iPad format is beautiful and perfect for engaging when you have a spare 10 minutes, and want to use that as a time to keep up with what’s going on in the world.

Save My Place!

My wife and I have both enjoyed The Week for over 10 years, and lately I’ve mostly been reading it on my iPhone 6+. The app is great, but I have on complaint about very annoying behavior. When I leave the app and return after a few hours, even if the app is still “loaded” in the background, it returns to the All Issues state and does not remember where I left off. Seriously, this is a silly flaw and could be easily fixed.

DO NOT SUBSCRIBE THROUGH ITUNES!!!!

evergreen98155

It has been difficult to cancel the subscription because The Week doesn’t have any information on me because it was done through the App Store. There is nothing I can find that tells me how to successfully cancel the service. I need an account number or email or zip code. But, The Week can’t sync themselves up with ITunes to help with the process. I’ve called and emailed and feel I’m caught in a loop when all I want to do is cancel subscription. DO NOT PURCHASE FROM ITUNES!!!

Super Magazine

This app is great way to always have the Week with you. I like the fact you change the font size.

Like the week, I'll be brief. Extremely balanced, globe focused news giving you the best insight on your world in the shortest amount of time.

Fantastic content with one big flaw

UPDATE: The new version of the app appears to have added Evernote to the sharing menu, but it doesn't work. All that gets saved is the headline—not even an URL. Same thing happens when using the "save to Dropbox" option. Saves to Instapaper don't even get that far—they fail with no indication of why or what one can do about it. So the sharing menu got an "upgrade," but it's useless. But the new version is way more stable on my iPad2, so that's a plus. *** The Week has been my favorite newsmagazine for years. The content is top-notch--concise and informative. The iPad app takes great advantage of the platform. When so many other magazines take the easy way out and just replicate their print pages in an app, it's great to see a publisher take the time to re-layout stories to make best use of the iPad's features. The font size is adjustable, which is a boon for old eyes. The app has Facebook and Twitter share buttons, but that's all. I crave Evernote integration. Other than that, it's an excellent product.

Pure rotting garbage

Andronian

To set the record straight, I love this magazine and its content, but this app is just the most worthless piece of junk I've ever used. It crashes every time I use it. It doesn't save your reading spot from before. Download issues are common. Oh, and did I mention it crashes constantly? Pure digital subscription should only be about 10 bucks, because of the sheer frustration involved with this app.
