App broken, no longer refreshes the news automatically…

No change in my iOS settings, but The Guardian app used to load stories instantly. Now, it fails to refresh and, after a while, shows a “new content available” button. Much slower and quite irritating. Please fix this!

I often read articles about the U.S. that I don’t see reported in the U.S. papers…they are also quite in depth, excellent reporting.

The Guardian covers a wide variety of topics and the reporting is generally excellent. My concern is they have too liberal a slant. If they were more balanced I’d give them five stars and donate.
Constant requests for contributions

I took out a subscription to the Guardian because I appreciate the journalism but I am constantly bombarded by requests for contributions. I subscribed using the same email as I have always used so I hoped I would be relieved of this nuisance. How can I receive your daily email without the annoyance as soon as I open an article to read?
Journalism that seeks truth

Truth is elusive because even facts are viewed through the perspective of human eyes. The biases of personal loss or gain, of ingrained habits of thought and of ideals and wishes make reporting truth even more challenging. The Guardian can be trusted to try to overcome these challenges even as it attempts special care to present the viewpoint of the poor, of those without privilege, of the oppressed and of the socially invisible. I applaud their organising structure that makes this possible. I am always grateful to read The Guardian.
