I like this app a lot, I’ve been using it on a six month road trip which is making it extremely frustrating how buggy the app has been recently. I can’t use it for more than a minute before the app just closes. Every time I click a location is zooms so far in I can’t see anything.

Every time I’m searching on a map it zooms in so I can’t click view then scroll to the next site. I literally have to click zoom out then click again every single time. Please fix that

I paid for pro and got exactly NOTHING. The layers aren’t showing ANY public lands. You just charged me to advertise campgrounds. Unhappy customer.

Poor User Interface & Glitchy

This app is insanely difficult to use. We have a pro membership that we use on our iPhone 12 Pro maxes and it’s super glitchy and constantly has problems. First example: if you search for campgrounds in “Olympic National Forest,” it gives you all campgrounds in Washington. If I’m searching for campgrounds in the Olympic National Forest, I only want to see campgrounds in the Olympic National Forest in my search results. Otherwise there is no point in having a search function. Second example, if you click on a campground to read details about it then want to go back to the map to see where it is in relation to other campgrounds or the area in general, the app zooms super far in so you can’t see anything then when you zoom out you are in a completely different part of the state and cannot find the campground you were just looking at a moment ago. Honestly this is such a bad app, I cannot imagine how it got such a high star rating. Third example, when you are looking at a map with several campground options on it, if you click on one, the app does that weird zooming in thing so you have to zoom out and then again you are looking at a completely different part of the state and have no idea where the campground you just clicked on went. Fourth example, when you are scrolling through the campground options, they are in absolutely no order so you may think you’re scrolling through campgrounds in the Hoh Rainforest and when you find one you like and click on it it’s actually in Capitol Forest or somewhere not even remotely close to Hoh. All in all, the most frustrating user experience. I make my husband research campgrounds because I refuse to use the app it’s so bad. And yes my app is up to date. The campground review function is also awful. Don’t get me started on that.

Although it does a decent job summarizing campsites. It is difficult to use. It directs you to less desirable locations. The discounts that they promote are overpriced to begin with so you won’t want to use them. If this doesn’t discourage you from purchasing the App, be careful you don’t automatically renew your subscription. Burn me once, shame on you. Burn me twice, shame on me. Beware

Helpful, but glitchy

I’ve used this app for about a year and a half now and it has helped me plan a number of camping trips. I like being able to see others reviews and pictures when I’m visiting an area I’ve never been before. That being said, lately the app has been so glitchy it’s practically unusable. When I try to search for sites in a specific area on the map and then I click on a specific site to see more details, it zoom all the way in on the map. Which is not helpful at all. All I see is green. When I try to zoom back out to see other sites in that area it usually pops me into a completely different area of the map, a few times it’s dropped me a couple states over from where I want to be. I just paid for Pro because it was on sale for Black Friday and I’m kind of regretting it now. Looking at other reviews, one from back in April, it looks like this problem may have been going on for a while without being fixed.

Poor photo features and user experience

Simply put, the ability to view photos is terrible. I’m trying to love this app as it has potential but the user experience is tortuous. Why can’t we view photos in landscape mode? More importantly, why can’t we zoom in on photos where users are posting photos with campsite information booths/boards? Additionally, I HATE that the app clears out my last active session. Every time I’m conducting a search or researching an area, then for whatever reason I get pulled away (phone call, responding to a text, knock at the door), this app basically reboots when I reopen and have to start over. Lastly the MOST ANNOYING THING, when searching in a specific area on the map and clicking on a campsite icon, why does it randomly zoom into the map?! It doesn’t even zoom into where I clicked but some other random nearby area on the map?!?! I keep having to zoom out to continue to browse other campsites in the search area. Simple features would greatly improve user experience but instead, I find using the app utterly infuriating. I’m not exactly sure why this app is rated so highly. I often use other apps such as Campendium, iOverlander, free campsites dot net, Hipcamp, etc. because of simple usability issues plaguing this app.
