Swami Satchidananda was one of the first Yoga masters to bring the classical Yoga tradition to the West. Invited to America in 1966 by iconic pop artist Peter Max, he taught Yoga postures, meditation and a compassionate vegetarian lifestyle. In 1969, he opened the Woodstock Festival and became known to an entire generation as “the Woodstock Guru.”

Swami Satchidananda founded the global Integral Yoga® organization, Satchidananda Ashram–Yogaville® and the Light Of Truth Universal Shrine (Lotus.org). He is the author of Integral Yoga Hatha, To Know Your Self, The Yoga Sutras of Patanjali, Beyond Words, The Living Gita and The Golden Present. He is also the subject of the documentary, Living Yoga. This is very well done. A short daily inspirational reading in the style of the entries in "The Golden Present." The readings are searchable as well. You can also forward a particular reading to someone via email. Each reading has a photo of Sri Gurudev and you can save these images to your ipad/iPhone.

Handy source for daily words of inspiration and practical wisdom from one of the great spiritual teachers of the past two centuries, whose mission of bringing peace to the world transformed and benefitted so many lives. Visitors to the Yogaville center in Virginia can learn tools to achieve that peace through sampling the many diverse and interesting programs.

This app is exactly what I was looking for - a mobile, daily meditation from Swami Satchidananda. It's beautifully designed and I like how they kept it simple. I also like that you can look at the readings from another day and you have the option to send them to someone or to your phone camera roll. Love it!
