The game is lovely and very clever. I definitely need hint mode on because at the start I wasn’t sure what to do. I also didn’t realize there wasn’t any sound until I got to a puzzle where that is needed. I contacted the developers and they were prompt (like hours later) and offered possible troubleshooting ideas. I realized that the no sound issue was because I keep my phone in silent mode. Once the ringer was switched on, the sound worked immediately. So if the same thing happens to you, try that!

Like moving through a classical Chinese painting, this puzzle game is a visual delight. Add to that the dimension of sound by appreciating the music and audio puzzles. I don’t think gamers need to depend on the hints to progress: I certainly didn’t (except for the one where I was yelling into the mic and the game wasn’t picking it up). There are no in-game translations of the written Chinese characters sprinkled throughout the game since they’re not clues for solving any puzzles, but if you’re curious about what they say, you can visit the developer’s website and find the blog post where they translate all of them. Most of them are excerpts from classical Chinese texts. Looking forward to immersing myself in more of this world whenever more chapters are released!

Illustrations and presentation are very beautiful and deserve praise. Otherwise it has problems. My game crashed 3 times. Each time it took me back to the start of the level losing several completed tasks each time. It should store the state frequently. You cannot escape from some puzzles until completed. There needs to be a silent alternative to allow play anywhere. Forcing users to blow into their microphone is unique but a terrible idea since it can damage or force moisture into the mic. Needs some critical updating with next release.
