Bots are not too smart

patidallas22

Love 42 but they need to make the bots smarter. I splash, it trumps one of my doubles when there was no need to! Not only that but it doesn't hold the high ones and holds dominoes that don't help. Kind of frustrating, it's like playing with someone that doesn't understand the game or a simple strategy. Not worth paying for this app.

One improvement

When I first went nello I found out that you cant make doubles low please fix this

Multiplayer crash

BigCam10

This app is good only for single player. Nearly every time I play with a friend the app locks up two or three hands in. And it's also a real hassle to get a game going to begin with. The sending and accepting of an invitation is challenging. One more bug that needs to be worked out it is the app locking up ever time there is a tie when drawing for first hand.

Multiuser?

Shirley/Sim

I have not played enough to see problems identified by other comments. The problem I encountered is the multiplayer option. It says I can't play multiplayer because I'm not registered, but it does not show me a way to register.

Texas 42

I have been playing this game for months, and loved it. However, now all kinds of errors are present. From not scoring a trick correctly to just shutting off in the middle of a game. What's happening? Another huge flaw, although I have set my partner to conservative, he constantly out bids me, and usually gets set. In real life, a partner would never out bid his partner unless he had a sure hand.

Stupid AI

Josh*H

I have played several games, and the play from my partner is very inconsistent. He sometimes plays brilliantly and sometimes makes the most idiotic moves. On the last hand I played, the threw a double four in the second to last trick so he could keep a double blank. I also saw him throw a double three on the second trick in a hand and then proceed to throw some a six later leaving his 6-4 unprotected. All this while having more garbage in his hand he could have thrown. He also threw a double five on one of my trumps, which is fine, but he also had an unprotected 6-4 in his hand he could have thrown instead. That play led to me going set. It is really frustrating to lose because the AI partner doesn't know basic 42 strategy. It is entertaining, but I sort of wish I had spent my $2 on a coke.

Cheating

M2Squared

The game would be great if it weren’t so obvious that the opposing team knows what’s in your hand and each other’s. They always manage to hit into each other’s hand with offs and play the only combination possible to set you especially when you bid low (Nello).

AI is a buffoon. Where are the fixes, lazy developer?

Pepper Jack King

This is the best 42 app out there? Mildly entertaining at best. AI makes mistakes too numerous to list here. Waste of time and money. Developer has all but given up on fixes and upgrades. Lost count how many times my partner bids 31+ with 5-0 off (w/o the 5-5) and actually leads the 5-0! AI trumps my clean double lead instead of sloughing. Then he leads a trash rock. Opp bid 36. Early in the game. This was his hand: 0|0 0|6 0|5 0|3 0|2 6|6 5|5 Easy 2-mark hand. And he bids 36! Wow. My advice? If you’re easily entertained, this is the app for you. Any more than that, skip it.

Computer error I suppose

39butch

My computer partner bid 35 . Named fours trump without the double or six-four. Nobody would be that stupid!! Also it says you can play low and you can’t! Probably computer glitch! Every time opposition bids without the double, partner always has it! If someone can tell me how to bid low please put in review

Partner play questionable

Happily cooking

I love the game but my partners play is sometime very lacking, especially when playing splash. I just played a game where he had bid 31 and I had 5 doubles so I bid 2 marks and went splash. The led out his trumps then led an off which I caught with a double. I then led a couple more doubles. On the next to the last trick he played his last Trump then led another off, one I had already played the double for. The other team caught it and set us. Why have splash as a part of the game if you aren't going to program the partner to play it the way a normal person would. Actually that applies to normal play as well. Like when I Trump the other team and my partner plays an off when he could have played the 6/4. Then loses the 6/4 to the other team on the next trick. ??????
