This app is for controlling and setting your Tentacle Timecode Box and the new Sync E with your iOS device. For connection with your First Gen Tentacle you will need a 4-pin minijack cable which is included in your Tentacle Set you purchased. For connection with the successor Tentacle Sync E you don't need any cable. Just turn on Bluetooth and follow the instructions.

Functional, but use caution in post...

The Tentacle Sync ecosystem has performed well for me when syncing multiple cameras and external audio recorders. That said, be careful with your post production workflow to ensure accurate results. I have discovered that different cameras will begin writing the audio track a few milliseconds after the video track. This becomes an issue when trying to read audio LTC in programs like Adobe Premiere and DaVinci Resolve which look for a time stamp in the first few frames of a clip. When trying to sync clips recorded with Tentacle Sync audio LTC using anything other than Tentacle Sync Studio, I would experience sync errors up to 9 frames depending on the camera. However, when generating a sync map in Tentacle Sync Studio with the audio timecode “reading range” set to “randomly in file,” I consistently get accurate syncs. Overall, very impressed with this system and looking forward to the future possibilities opened up with Bluetooth timecode.
Doesn’t Show correct TC

For some reason I have to download and reinstall the app each time I use my Tentacle or else the TC is off by a second. Thinking about selling my Tentacle for an Ambient unless there’s a fix.
