Not much for teens

Frugalmom45

I downloaded this app to help my teen look for local work. The app is nicely designed with no significant bugs. The content filters leave a lot to be desired. Putting in age 16+ pulled local jobs requiring college education and professional licenses. Of the average 20-30 jobs that came up each time maybe 1 or 2 fit the knowledge, skills, and abilities typical teens would have. I’ve deleted the app and will try it again later if it improves.

No Jobs Based On Skill

MBMBRIDGE

I downloaded this app hoping that it would connect to me to local businesses who were looking for teens with certain skills. I am an excellent computer programmer and graphic designer so I was looking for any local company who would need some of my work at a reduced rate than a professional programmer/designer who can do the same things as me. When I searched for jobs, I was disappointed to find all basic minimum wage jobs that I could easily find with a simple google search. I was hoping that this app could find me jobs different than a typical cashier, hostess, or car wash attendant. All these jobs require absolutely no previous skill and do not pay well. I also created a profile so that businesses could find me and see what skills I had to offer, I was very hopeful. After a month of waiting, not a single employer had reached out to me. I am sure it is because the app does not have enough employers on it. Overall, great idea but a horrible execution.

No Locations

I downloaded the app to try to help me search for a job, but I can not put in my location.

Could Do Better

Ah yes. What all teens love. Taking more time to exit ads then job search... the advertisements are a part of the business, I don’t necessarily fault that. However, every interaction to prompt an advertisement isn’t good business. It disrupts essentially all the traffic, all the time. That’s why placing it before one of the initial menus might be beneficial? Or placing it after each application is finished. Suggestions, but it would be a heck of a lot more intuitive and a whole lot more productive for people in a job search. The ads are failing the users in this capacity. I like the potential this app has. I think if this app focused heavily on helping to build an entry level resume or advice on building experience, skills that the target users need maybe in a blog post-like manner this app would be capitalizing on its already apparent potential. Most teenagers don’t have that knowledge and don’t know where to look- despite having abundant resources, sadly enough. Although this is the age of information, the abundance of information creates a layer of complexity when navigating through these ideas. I really had hoped for better. The simplicity of just needing a zip code and a maximum distance is pretty much all one needs at this stage. It’s hard to get into other apps when you have little to no prior experience because the employers on larger applications aren’t looking for a beginning applicant. They’re searching for people who have proven they can be trained, not those looking to prove such. And other reasons, obviously. For employers, this app would be useful as well- to search this market for part-time help. Many potentials, needs a lot of back end work.

No jobs for Teens

I wanted to preview the app to give my Teenage son options while looking for summer employment. There were no jobs listed for teens. They were either full-time, and him being 15yrs old, he has hour restrictions. Most required a college degree or masters. Not sure why this is an app for teens. Very good resource for adult job seekers though.

Too Complicated

Ohmygod???????

It’s a good idea and seems quite simple but when I went to put in my location it wouldn’t acknowledge that I had written anything. I tried dozens of different ways to put in my location but it wouldn’t budge.

not worth it

esmeralldaaa ?

Too many ads couldnt even find a decent job for my age

well...

Jayden Barton?? Gilford NH

its a great idea, and the app is even set up very well (user friendly) but i made my application and it wouldnt save. and then i put in my address and my age (14) and "within 5 miles" and only one offer came up. so i put my age up to 19 and the distance all the way up and only got like 3 more offers. NOBODY HAS POSTED JOB OFFERS ON THIS APP

It needs to be fixed in many places. First there's ads every time I click on something, I have to put the age higher than what I am and I have to put it at least 25 miles away for 1 job to come up. I don't like this app don't get it. I wasted my time so that you don't have to.
