I absolutely adore Wattpad. I have read and written stories through them for years. So when I found out they created another app with a different story type, I was super excited to try it out! So I downloaded it. As soon as you open the app you’re taken into a tutorial story. It’s all fine and dandy! It even sends a video call as part of the story, but this is where the hiccups start. If you press accept for the video call, it takes you to a screen that says that you have to be a premium member of the app to access those services. Cool, cool. That’s a super neat concept and I understand why that would be premium. But premium is ridiculously EXPENSIVE! So you’re given the option to just skip and continue on as an average member. You continue clicking through the story and pictures begin to appear with a “click to view” prompt. Since you didn’t pay for premium with the video call, clicking on the picture simply progresses the story. The picture won’t even open. Why would that be premium? They’re just pictures? Recordings and calls and whatnot make sense but pictures? Keep on tapping and - whoa! Suddenly you have to wait 20 minutes before you can progress through the tutorial. The TUTORIAL. That should at least be timer-free! You wait the 20 minutes, you finish out the story, and BOOM home page of nothing but tap stories! Super excited stuff! I got through a full story and began another when another hiccup came up. I unintentionally opened a story with a choose-your-own-ending type deal. I get to the option and surprise! It’s a premium feature! Creating the story to have multiple endings should be the AUTHOR’S preference and, therefore, free! Not only that, if you don’t complete the story you can’t get out of it! So here I am, stuck in the very beginning of this choose-your-own-ending story (that actually had some appeal) and I can’t even get back to the home screen to start another story. Overall, this app is ridiculous and tedious. It’s like walking on eggshells or playing Minefield trying to find a story that won’t get you stuck for a millennia. If I could rate this 0 stars, I would. This app is bringing hurt to Wattpad’s name and aggravation is its non-premium members. Overall, if you don’t want to pay a ridiculous amount of money for an app, stick to Wattpad.

Yes you can write your own story, yes you can read others and yes the texting animations are well blessed. You can’t see images the chat stories have, you can’t hear the sounds and phone calls it has, and you can’t view the video chats that chat story has (unless you pay). I find that completely ridiculous and hadn’t Hooked decided not to get rid of making your OWN stories, I would be over there right now. Sorry Tap, but if you just stop being so money-hungry I would actually enjoy the app.

An issue I have is not being able to close out of a story if I grow bored of it. I feel like there’s some type of navigational error with the app. I don’t if it’s because of the device I read the stories on, but please try to fix this.

If you could please make some updates to this game so you can ACTUALLY EXIT OUT OF THE STORYS AND NOT HAVE TO READ A STUPID STORY ABOUT A LITTLE BRATTY GIRL WHO MURDERS PEOPLE EVERY FREAKING TIME I OPEN THE APP that would be GREAT ??????????????????????????.
