Worst App I’ve ever used

HappyCritic2011

And it probably should be removed from the App Store for false advertising. The “App Support” link in the App Store goes nowhere - it’s dead. There is no support provided by the newspaper. It loads most (not all) of the time, but rarely will it display the page of the newspaper without being so blurry that’s illegible. This is despite an excellent connection (and includes everyone in our house accessing the paper). We loved the idea of getting the paper digitally - the Tampa Bay Times ruined that idea with poor, poor execution.

Very useful.

I receive a daily paper copy of the Times but someone else in the family monopolizes that, so I use the digital addition - this app. I love it. Having used it for over a year, I believe I now prefer the digital edition to the paper copy. One advantage is that I occasionally I want to go back and find an article from a prior edition, and I can. If I only had paper copies, the paper copy would have been thrown out. Yes there are some digital errors in the content, but those are easily overlooked in favor of the great convenience. I can’t live without it.

The newspaper business is in enough trouble without this app!

Believe it or not, I like the paper and am trying to get the electronic edition -- but I can't succeed in paying my money to get it. The app makes it a quest even to find out where to subscribe. It keeps asking you to log in, but doesn't show you where to register to begin with. (I finally found it by clicking on "Forgot Password" and scrolling down to a New Subscription link.) Then -- having gotten to the New Subscription menu -- you can't sign in by entering an e-mail address, you have to do it via an e-mail provider. Cool. Hi tech. Social media. Only problem is that it won't log me in to my Yahoo e-mail account. Keeps telling me, incorrect password. Funny, it works on Yahoo's website. TBT, I give up. Call me when you've got a works-in-the-real-world app.

Not cool

NJ2FLA

This App's not ready for prime-'Times', too slow to focus in on the very small print, you have to keep sliding and shuffling the page along to read a story, do to the horizontal continuous-page layout. Stick to their website for now, its cleaner and much faster.

Great newspaper

That smart guy

I wish they had stuck with the name St. Pete Times, it made our city seem more important haha

It's just okay...

RAKFLA

It works well enough when I am out of town and want to keep up with what's going on at home, but the app has some annoying quirks. The pages often take a long time to render and zooming may require it to completely reload. Navigating from page to page or article to article feels clunky and sluggish. This is when connected to high speed Internet like fios. Probably the most annoying thing is in regards to zooming in to read an article. If you use a 2 finger zoom you can make the font size large enough to easily read, but as soon as you take your fingers off the screen the font size reduces itself considerably.

Worthless

If you do not have a subscription you cannot use this app. Just use the website... This app is not worth the time and energy.

Nice app until recent update

jaybones1234

Loved the app before recent update. Now pages take longer to clear up when changing pages. Please fix. Try testing app next time before you release it.

Multi-line links don't work

JumpinJehose

Links that span across 2 lines do not work. Defeats the purpose of having embedded hot links. Very annoying. In The Reading File section in Opinion section on Saturdays, the full article is available ONLY through the links. When the URL spans to the next line, broken link! If you want to read it, open up Safari yourself and type in the URL. Annoying!

Crashes repeatedly, letters scrambled

Westchaser

Even with updates, it is still slow to load (3-5 minutes) and crashes at least once while loading. Sections of the paper are fun to decipher, because letters are switched for each other: today "N" has replaced "M" in various headlines. This app is disappointing.
