Comprehensive simple and amazing

Simply put the best foreign language app. Can help you learn or just get along on a trip. Helped me so much when I was in Thailand for two months. By the time I'd left the kingdom I was comfortable ordering food, directing basic cabs and doing things like adding money to my bts card and that's all without studying

Far and away the best

Best dictionary app!

This is by far my favorite Thai dictionary app! My favorite part is the "Find Words Inside", I've learned a lot just with that really neat little feature.

OMG What an update...!!

Absolute best Thai learning app... !! I have been using this app for years and love it along with everything produced by this publisher. The updates for this version are fabulous. So many features for different kinds of users without being overwhelming. I especially love the dictation feature. Thank you so much for all the hard work put into this new version. P.S. I liked the old colorful icon much better. The big character makes it obvious what the app is for but it is a little bit plain to look at.

Excellent Update

This app has been an indispensable tool in helping me learn Thai for over a year. I was so surprised to open the app today to Version 2 and thought what happened to the app I was so familiar with! V2 is totally revamped and so much better organized. It has also included many useful sections like common phrases in different situations. Sample sentences to illustrate the use of a word is very helpful in helping to understand the Thai sentence structure. ชอบมากขอบคุณนะครับ

The best gets better

The easiest 5-star app review I've ever given. It's hard to understate the value of the work that goes into this dictionary and taking thoughtful advantage of the software platform, and the makers have generously made the huge 2.0 rewrite a free upgrade. The only slight negative I could say about it is that some UI conventions feel out of place on iOS given the cross-platform nature of the app, but it is nonetheless fluid and easy to use. The 2.0 release has answered every nit I have ever had about it: phrases (supercharged with a placeholder feature for customizing), favorites/study lists, making three-way search entry even easier, and unanticipated new features like (bilingual) voice dictation search, unit and currency converters integrated in phrase placeholders, and a URL scheme. This is without question the dictionary to buy for the serious Thai student—I bought it when it was released, and it obsoleted every other dictionary app I had previously tried. You would spend the same on Paiboon's printed dictionary, and this has the advantage of portability, audio, the real-world fonts, excellent "Find Words Inside" feature, etc. The latter, if you've not seen it in comprehensive feature descriptions of the app, lets you find root words that compound words are composed of. I find this to be a very useful way of approaching vocabulary study. If you're learning to read Thai, or perhaps even a native speaker learning English, this app is worth every penny and then some.

Totally Awesome

So I use this app everyday as I am currently in a 1 year Thai immersion. I find it very helpful, and now after this last update I find it very user friendly. Highly recommended.

Strange but great

The new update is impressive. Already the highest quality dictionary by far (by accuracy of definitions), and added some genuinely useful tools to it. Just about every UI element is out of place on iOS, but it works quickly and smoothly. I really wish there was a way to purchase the dictionary separately to add to the native dictionaries on my Mac and iOS devices - for when I don't need all this power stuff though.

V2.0 brings favorite word lists and a slew of improvements

Updated for v2.0 First off, let me just say thanks for making this upgrade free for version 1.x purchasers! I am thrilled to see the new favorites feature come to fruition. Incredibly useful. It would be even better if when you looked up a word in the dictionary, that it would indicate if it was already in your favorites... There are some UI quirks for certain but the power and completeness of this dictionary as both a learning and reference tool overcome them. And the authors have definitely taken time to make the app easier and faster to use. Impressive. -- Updated for v1.8 This update brings support for ios8 and iPhone 6/6+. Looks good. Really looking forward to the 2.0 upgrade! -- Excellent app for beginner and seasoned speakers. But this app desperately needs word lists with the following options: * time stamp of date word added * option to add an annotation * maybe a counter to see how often the word has been accessed * search / display options for the lists (nouns, verbs, date added, etc) * even a single global list would be great if it had appropriate searching

Great update

I leave for Bangkok in October so this update comes at a great time. I am looking forward to using this extensively the next two weeks getting ready for my trip.
