Multiple times I have chosen the correct solution and the app told me it was wrong even though the analysis tool showed my same move. Also the analysis tool shows solutions for pieces that aren't on the board. Once showing moves for queens and knights that didn't exist. Also, analysis tool stops after one move. Hope the developers give it some much needed work!
Old version was good, but now it says I am wrong when I was right!

There are bugs in this version. Sometimes I input the correct or even better solution (one Houdini agrees is best) only to be told I am wrong. Secondly, the analysis mode is messed up. It often cannot analyze alternative moves, as if it becomes demented. It will show one move that makes no sense without a subsequent line. The level of difficulty is moderate so fine for most amateurs. However, I'd love to see programs with escalating levels of difficulties. Chess.com is best tactics program

When I fail a tactic, it only shows me the 1 next correct move rather than the whole sequence. On a multi move tactic, this is not worthwhile.
Useless app
No full map
The app doesn't tell you the objective of each puzzle!? You make a move and then it just says you failed, subtracts points and doesn't actually show you the solution!!! How can you learn from that? Terrible! Also, the sound selection in settings does not work. I set it to off and it still plays sound...

A great chess tactics app, however when playing in landscape position for my iPad the "Next Problem" button doesn't work unless I tap on another tab on the bar from the left and then come back to the training tab. The button has a bit of displacement and has a small black line under it which might also be part of the glitch. Playing in portrait style screen it works perfectly fine though :/ please fix this problem then I'll give 5 stars

I had this app previous, and then they instead of updating it renamed it tactics trainer, tactic trainer and you had to repurchase the app. I got another ipad as i got rid of my older one and guess what, that app which i had purchased twice was dropped and you have to purchase it again. also it does not give solution if you got it wrong. In the latest version it allows you to see the analysis, but the issue is that the analysis may not be the only answer, so unless you pick the "best" one at a given time it will mark you wrong. But best isnt always best, if you let the analysis engine run longer it change its original best line for a new one so if you entered the first answer the second time it would have been mark wrong. Third issue the answer is based on the engine they use. I was marked wrong for one puzzle where i had a double check, but ended up with the same final position and got marked wrong, bc the engine wanted to reach the final position with its way. Also if i have shredder or hiarchs solve a puzzle it will mark those programs wrong if it does not match the engine. Overall, does not allow for multiple solution with same results. .will mark correct moves as wrong. It is NOT a trainer. It is just a puzzle app where you can get marked wrong for a correct answer.

App consistently docks player for choosing variation which does not conform to db. Imagine finding a mate in four and losing 10 rating points because the db has the win of a knight in three! POS for sure.

I just got a problem correct and I went to analyze without the in app engine and when I made my first move in analysis took away rating points as if I got the problem incorrect. The app thought that I was still solving the problem when I had already solved it. The app also doesn't have the best rating system. Its very harsh. The in app engine needs tuning. But other than that this app is the best chess tactics trainer available. This app also needs to reward you more for getting problems right. I should NOT get +.2 points for getting a problem right while losing -8.9 points for getting one wrong. This app doesn't reward you at all. I get 9/10 problems right and my rating goes DOWN. They need to balance this!!!!!!!!!! PLEASE

Major Problems since Upgrade

I've used this app for years and have really enjoyed it and greatly improved my game. One of its many helpful features is that it provides you with an running ELO score and graph that provides both a record of your progress and incentive to achieve a higher score. But, since the recent upgrade there have been serious problems including the fact that the ELO score resets to a fixed number regardless of where it was when you last played. (In my case this number is 1781.6 which I'd approximately an average for me these days). If you're unconcerned with this ranking, the app is well worth playing with. But for me this loss of score is very frustrating.
