Horrible app

Kumau

I purchased for a trip to New Zealand in March 2015. The first day, it could barely keep up while walking in Auckland. Then we tried driving...it's so delayed and basically useless. I got a refund.

Works decently as an offline gps

un woz 'ere

I bought this app because I was going to be driving around Australia and would be visiting NZ But wouldn't have any data access so I couldn't use Apple or Google maps. The app works pretty well for directions although it can occasionally tell you to turn suddenly. If you have a phone holder or a passenger that doesn't doze off every 3 minutes the display does alleviate this problem. The POI catalogue is also a bit zany, it didn't have a lot of restaurants but did have some obtuse businesses that I guess someone might care about. This is not so bad if you're going to a known address. As for routes we compared it with Apple Maps, Google, and a Garmin car GPS a couple of times and the routes it gives are comparable but beware that if you don't have data you get no accounting for traffic. It actually worked better than the Garmin in our friends car when looking for a petrol station on the last day - the other GPS tried to kill the driver by sending them the wrong way down a one way street.

Bug needs fixing

This app needs fixing. It won't let you type in the exact house/building number. It brings you to the right street but won't lead you to the exact house/building number coz you can't type the numbers in when searching for it.

Great navigation especially offline

Boo Boo and Baby

I have used Sygic in three countries. Australia, New Zealand and the US. In all cases it has gotten me to my final destination. Not witHout some hiccups at times but nothing major. It makes better routing decisions than my Garmin does in the US. The feature I like the most is being able to download maps then being able to navigate without being online. This is really useful in both Australia and NZ especially in cities. I purchased the world wide version since I travel a lot and plan to use it when we head for South America. I would recommend this to a friend.
