Great relaxing game

The only thing need to be fixed here is the sync between devices. I have to delete the apps and download again everytime. So annoying.

Sword Hunter: a comprehensive review. Or as close as I can get.

Premise: Sword Hunter plays like a fast paced beat-um up/hack & slash. You control Sanny who using a katana takes out thugs and their bosses. The game is split into levels which consist of individual stages within, i.e. 1-10 or 1-20. Each time the player clears a stage in the level they’re rewarded a card, these cards range anywhere from healthy or attack up, to a meteorite hitting enemies. These cards only power you up until you beat the stage or lose, and do not carry over to the next level you play. As you progress through the game you will find items, gold to upgrade those items as well as your abilities, and other materials needed to progress. The farther you get the stronger the enemies and the more you’ll need to upgrade your gear. The game also includes an endless mode called challenge where you play without the stats from your items and earn tokens to buy cards in your run. This mode rewards you with badges that can be used in a specific shop attached to challenge mode that rotates every few hours. Controls: You can easily play the game with one finger or thumb. Tap to attack, press and hold in a direction to run, and swipe to dodge. To use your ultimate ability press it when you’re ready, be careful where you press on the screen as you may accidentally use your ult while dodging or attacking. There’s also an auto attack option you unlock 5 levels in, but I never use it because it has a delay after dodge and when you start attacking again. This usually resulted in me taking damage. Combat: Eliminating enemies will mainly be done with your blade, you have a combo of 7 attacks each dealing more damage with the final being slower but knocking most enemies back/over. When close to an enemy, tapping to attack will cause you to snap to a nearby enemy, this is what the game is talking about when you see it say “pursuit of sprint”. You are also able to continue combos after having dodged if you attack again fast enough. Your ultimate ability charges when you deal damage and take damage. Once charged one tap will activate it, there are currently 4 different swords each with a unique ability. They all have their own strengths and weaknesses so try them out. Most fights will be a large group of relatively weak enemies with a few tougher ones thrown in there. Then every 5 stages there will be a boss. This formula does start to get changed here and there but it generally applies. Enemies will attack after a wind up animation, some will also have a “!” above their head to signal an attack, but not always so be careful. Some enemy attacks will be armored, if you see an enemy attack with an orange/red glow around then they can’t be staggered aside from the final hit of tour combo, some abilities, and ultimates. Most enemies will be staggered from attacks, but the general rule is the bigger the harder they are to stagger. With bosses it varies if you can stagger or knock them over, so you’ll have to keep track of which is which. If you die in combat you are offered one revive. Cards: After completing a stage you’ll be offered 3 (6 in endless) to choose from. Which can be swapped out for a new set by watching an ad. This can be done any number of times as far as I’m aware. Your card choices will consist of White cards: Usually things like attack up or health up Purple or “rare” cards: These are very diverse and will be most of the interesting abilities and effects. Rainbow cards: These usually are upgrades for previous cards you have gotten, or powerful abilities like a second revive. Some cards you obtain are one off cards, and others will build on the previous iteration becoming more powerful, some will even change the way the ability significantly. Most cards will continue to get stronger as you take them but all cards will eventually reach a cap. Armor/weapons: Your equipment consists of a sword(surprising I know), a chest piece, boots, a helmet, a ring, and a necklace. All these items have stats and abilities attached to them. The stats are tied to the rarity of the item, signified by the color of they’re background grey being the weakest to pearlescent being the strongest. Items are upgraded with gold and scrolls. Items can be crafted together when you have 3 of the same kind, 3 grey items make a green, 3 greens a blue and so on. Your character can also be leveled using gold and purple soul stones and gold, this will raise your attack and health. At first running out of scrolls and stones is a problem but as the gold cost goes up your scrolls and stones start to pile up. Ads, gems, and auto raids: Here’s the part of the game that will be a turn off for most I’d imagine. The reliance on ads. There is no way to get rid of ads, but the game also has no in app purchases that I can find. Ads are usually 20-30 seconds long, 5 seconds on rare occasions. I will now list out everything ads do in the game, Getting energy: An ad can be played to gain 5 energy, max 8 times per day. Tickets: throughout the game you will get an item called tickets, you are able to exchange these for gems 50 per ticket, general chest 1 per ticket, or open the advanced chest if you have 3 tickets(but only once a day). Auto raid: Once you’ve cleared a level you can auto raid it, this will use 5 energy and start a timer. Once this timer is done you’re able to collect a set of rewards from the level. This timer can be ended instantly by watching an ad, regardless of the length of the raid it will finish it. Daily reward bundle: Each day you can watch an ad to receive an assortment of items to help you in game. Reward doubling: When you’ve given a reward for signing in or for completing parts of a level you are offered the choice to double it. I would say always do this with the level rewards, they are quite good and if you decline you’ll never get the chance again. There’s more to say but it won’t fit on in the review box. Energy is 12 minutes for 1 btw P.S. Buy the gem energy you’ll make the gems back.

ALOT OF FUN

No option to use real money at all. Ads only when you want extra stuff. Alot of things to collect and upgrade. Gonna be playing this for a while. Great game.

Very different from other games

andrew1223332222

Honestly this game isn’t anything like the other games floating around the App Store currently it’s entertaining and it seems endless. I’m not a huge fan of the energy system but the game itself is amazing. It’s so simple yet so splendid I recommend for when you’re bored.

Best mobile game of all time
