The Swing U app has been a big help to throughout this semester. Benign a collegiate golfer, the strokes gained and gps tools have been vital to improving my performance on the golf course. I look forward to using the app throughout my college career and on.

I have been a professional tour player on the Symetra Tour since 2017 and I began using the SwingU app this year. It is the perfect user friendly golf statistics app for players of all levels (from beginner to professional!) One of the best features of the app is that once the user has put in statistics from several rounds, the strengths and weaknesses of their games are highlighted in the Performance tab and it offers free drills to help make improvements! I would definitely recommend this app to any golfer looking to improve their games!

Huge Help on My Professional Golf Journey

In November, I graduated from UNC-Chapel and turned professional in January. Since then, I have been playing on the Symetra Tour along with two LPGA starts. I began using SwingU in the middle of the summer and it had had a huge impact on my tournament preparation and practice. As a rookie, most courses I go to are brand new for me. So having the SwingU app to guide me through the first few practice rounds is invaluable. It helps me map my way around the course before I even play. After rounds, the stats input has been a huge help in allowing me to see areas of my game that need improvement. The strokes gained analysis allows me to see where I can gain one or two strokes back in each round. And, in professional golf, one or two strokes in a 4 day tournament can be the difference in winning and losing. I’m a big fan of SwingU. I think it has helped my game tremendously and will help players of all skill levels.

UPDATE: customer service was very helpful in explaining why my handicap hadn’t changed. I had played on a course with temporary greens (no putting, assume two puts) & other factors that resulted in an unusually low score. The handicap calculation limited my handicap to no more than 5 strokes above that score. I was able to easily exclude that round to get a more reasonable handicap. Problem solved! I’ve changed my rating to 5 stars! ———— I have just short of 700 rounds played with this app and I continue to use it. Unfortunately, according to the app, for the last two months or so my handicap has not varied by even one tenth of a point. That’s obviously incorrect. I have started using a separate app to calculate my handicap. I generally like the stats from this app but for some reason for “successful scrambles” I get a percentage (which seems correct) and under that it always says “4/5”. By itself that not a big deal, but combined with the erroneous handicap calculation I start wondering about all the other data. Not very confidence inspiring. OTOH, it works very well with my Apple Watch 6 - that’s one reason I keep using the app.
