It seems likely that Surespot has received an NSL and is compromised. See the Christian Science Monitor article. Long periods of silence do not inspire confidence.

I have been using this app for about a year and have never been disappointed. I am a college student and use it frequently with my parents to exchange account and credit card info.

When I use this it drops my wifi connection for the phone and shuts off VPN. A "secure privacy app" wouldn't ask you to upload your private keys to google!

I had lingering problems with my iPhone after repeated restore attempt, and was forced to have it reformatted. Although my iPhone is now usable, when I tried to use the surespot app, I found that I could not use my login credentials, unless I had saved it somewhere on the phone or on Google Drive, which did not happen. As it stands, my only real option is to start from scratch, meaning that unless the next update includes an option to manually enter the login credentials, I'm out of luck. This lack of a feature ruins an otherwise great app, and has to be fixed in the next update.

First app update in over a year. I seriously thought this app was dead, especially after reading on several different websites that the app may have been compromised by the US government (backdoor put in to bypass the encryption). Too bad users can never be sure that the compiled version they download from the App Store has identical code to the open source version posted by developers on Github. I wish Apple would create some type of certification program for open source apps where Apple verifies that the version submitted to Apple is identical to the open source version posted publicly.

This App is lightweight the worst messenger I have used EVER! I have beta tested many but this one take the Donkey of Them All! What the heck is it doing with 12% Batt? Probably Demonic Possession????????????
