It generates a wide range of undulating sounds, controlled by touch, which slowly evolve in unpredictable ways. The sound is visualised as an ever-changing dynamic form.
Great for the price, would love to see this get some more control, like have multitouch control over some aspect(s) of the chaos... Sounds purty as is though!
Strange attractor creates some pretty useful and interesting sounds. This will be 5 stars if copy/paste is added to the record function.
If you are interested in fractals or audio, this app is worth it. Audio pasteboard support would make it more useful, by far. ITunes sharing is not the ideal in terms of usability. Support for Audiobus when it comes would be even better! 5 stars if either of those come to this app!
Very cool app. Small tweaks sets off some far out oscillating drones - spinning off into who knows what - deep space bass, glitches, timbres freaks. Would like more modulation, oscillation options, audio copy/paste, manual glitch, ability to name saved files. Lookin forward to updates
This app changes the paradigm for generative music apps. If you're a fan of ambient music but are tired of "new age" noodling, Strange Attractor gives you another dimension of sound. Que c'est beau.
Normally, I'd give 4 stars if its good but has no MIDI or Audiobus . But giving 5 for great support! Had issues w/ no sound - Developer responded ASAP & pointed me to the fix - if one taps “Don’t Allow” microphone , when opening the system won’t ask again — ever. That can spell confusion and frustration for users who tapped the dialog away without reading it, and then discovered they’re unable to record audio. The trick is to open Privacy Settings for the device, and enable Microphone access for the app. The controls can be found in the system Settings app.
....in one easy payment! & to think there was a time when the only assertive act ov descention from a capitalistic commodity culture was suicide; ThankYou so much ! Live Now, Die Later!
This app is really useful as a filter in Audiobus. You can generate some really deep bass with it and the sound changes are very responsive to your touch. Works on iPad mini retina.
I like the app but I can't seem to figure out how to turn it off. It continues to run in the background after exiting on my iPhone 5c iOS7 and freezes in Audiobus for me. Hoping for a quick fix.
This app (Strange Attractor) and VOCO are among my favorite audio apps in my collection. After a couple years of using them, I still manage to discover amazing new sounds and textures quite consistently. I'm grateful for the thoughtfulness and effort invested. Hope to see more from this DEV... Someday.
