Always looking for new apps that will keep the kids entertained and be at least intellectually stimulating. This game does just that! This app will be on our phones for a long time. Definitely recommend

I initially rated this app as 1 star because I wasn’t able to access any features. Devs reached out to me and resolved the issues I was having. Turns out if the phone is locked in portrait mode, it does not show record button, etc. no matter how I hold it. There should be a better way to let the users know this caveat. I never had this issue with any other app. But for now I am going to enjoy this app :) App has clean interface and I look forward to using it with my children. Thanks! ————————- ORIGINAL REVIEW I am leaving my review as 1 star until I see some changes. 1. Where is the record function? I can’t see the function anywhere. All I see is reset and reroll. 2. Where is the background shown in the screenshot? 3. Where is the interactivity and sandbox like mode as in the trailer? Objects can’t be picked up nor stacked up. 4. My version does not say what the item is like the trailer. I can’t believe this was on the apples frontpage. I will think twice before purchasing apps solely based on recommendation and screenshots. Maybe this will get there, but as is it really is not very good. I will re-review later if there are any changes.

I am writing this review as a parent, grand parent, Speech-Language Pathologist and educator. This is a really wonderful imaginative app that is very easy to manipulate and use. As a therapist the uses are endless for naming, cause and effect, describing, sequencing, literacy development, direction following to list a few. As a life long educator of children (parent and grand parent) this has been wonderful to document family events, listen to our kids giggling and telling fantastical stories and letting their imaginations run wild! To be able to create unique imaginative stories with millions of endless possible scenarios within one app, capture the voice, use text and upload capability is an absolute TREASURE!! You will not be disappointed in this very reasonably priced app! Teachers, take note, imaginative story telling is a lost art, this could be a very valuable platform in the schools, especially the younger grades. We are always complaining of ‘too much screen time’ or ‘passive’ learning with the iPad, but not so with Story Dice. Kids will love the creativity and ability to hear their stories, especially if uploaded to, for example a classroom YouTube channel or if sent to a family member. I a HIGHLY impressed with this app! Kudos YUMI/Aacorn!!????
Easy play for Young Children!

The instructions were simple and a quick learn. The graphics are cute with entertaining sounds. The dice are very large, which is perfect for young kids less coordinated fingers to manipulate. Love how you shake to phone and that is what shakes the dice! I did learn, the visual is best when the phone is sitting on a flat surface (like a table) - Thank You!!! ... prevents the kiddos from dropping the phone or shaking it too aggressively! Nice to have a learning game app for very young (age 3) children that they can play on their own without getting frustrated. It would be fun to have ‘seasonal’ dice, Christmas, Summer, Winter, etc.

Didn't even get to play for five minutes, after you reset the dice enough times it locks all dice except for two and the only way you can play normally again is to pay.

My 4 year old LOVES this! He has a lot of speech difficulties and with this, he's trying very hard to use his words and sounds correctly! It's awesome!

Seeing genuine, honest creativity and exploration in an iPhone game from our kids is a very welcome rarity. This app pulls on the imagination. Hearing them roll, manipulate, and inevitably craft their story is hilarious and fun. They record them and literally share the stories! Some of their friends are also getting in on it, so we might need to rig a little story of the day competition. We love Story Dice. Great work and looking forward to more!
