Used 1.7 GIGABYTES in 6 days + major battery drain

Despite the most recent update, this app is a major data hog and battery drain. Something was using major amounts of data and I was able to confirm that this app was the culprit by resetting the usage statistics and rechecking less than a week later to find that it used 1.7 gigs. The total of all my other apps was less than .25 gB in that 6 day period. Before this I tried scaling back the app’s location access but that made no noticeable difference (“only while using app” instead of “always”). Besides the data, there were days when it was responsible for more than 60% of my battery drain.

But it’s really slow. And the ads popping up all of the time are a little annoying. But I’d rather they focused on speeding the app up, because ain’t nobody got time for that.

Stupid notifications

Don’t care if lightning was 4.2 miles from my location. When there’s a thunderstorm with lightning it goes off all the time and it gets annoying. Only wanted notifications of storms approaching. Just shut off notifications so I guess I won’t get those now but am sick of all the notifications that mean nothing. Maybe you should send out lightning notifications when it hits my location.

I have been trying to figure out what is sucking up all my data. After resetting my cellular data and tracking for a few weeks, I was able to determine that this app has used 1.1GB since May 8th!

Worthless when it takes so long to load

The title says it all. Since the recent redesign of the app, it is almost useless. Why use this app when other weather apps open in a fraction of the time? I need accurate weather information quickly and the app no longer does it. The original design was way better. Why load the 12.2 feed if you don’t want to see it? Why load the stupid blog posts? Why load the closings area when there are none? Etcetera. Stupid is as stupid does! Nasty and not user friendly. Pretty much like this weather team who interrupts network programming to ramble on about stuff happening a hundred miles away when they have 12.2 and 12.5 broadcasting weather ALL THE TIME!!! Just put a crawl on the bottom of 12.1 and 12.4 saying there’s a potentially dangerous storm and refer people to 12.2 and 12.5 to get the details!!!!! Why have a 24/7 weather channel (simulcast on two sub channels) if you don’t use it to solve this ongoing and easily resolved issue?

With the latest update, the app now takes way too long to load. They tried to put a lot of information on the homepage, but the downside is it takes longer than a minute to load. I can pull up two or three other weather apps in the amount of time it takes this one to display.

Sadly, this version has lots to be desired. The map cannot be expanded and uses only half the screen. In the Locations the selected city is bright yellow with white lettering so cannot be read. The dark blue/black background on other screens has blue lettering that is nearly same value so very difficult to read. It was not intuitive how to delete a city. Finally discovered it in Settings. And in daily mode there is a band of advertising among the days. Wishing for previous version. The only plus is it is certainly very colorful.

The new version is graphic heavy, loads slow, removed the ability to see radar, mini stats (temp, wind chill, humidity) and forecast in one shot. Now it takes MORE time to wander through all the graphic heavy adds -and the worth-less video— to see the radar. And where did you hide windchill? I am looking for something else!!
