I just wanted to be able to see number of steps without opening an app

This works. It's not perfectly accurate (about 25% less than my Fitbit), but that's because it's just reading from Apple's Health app, so I blame Apple. Numbers don't matter so much as consistency, so that's okay.

Great little app. I was using more of a pedometer--not really wanting/needing all the bells and whistles of a Fitbit. I just wanted the steps I walked. This app does quite a bit more though and I found I liked that. I do not however have an Apple Watch and that's probably the biggest downside doesn't track on my steps unless I have my phone with me.

This app is the best. It even measures flights of steps. I've used a jawbone Up for years, but recently my Up2 was replaced, and now I'm not even wearing it anymore. I have a free iphone sleep app and with this app I no longer need my Up. The only drawback is the new sizes of the phones which are too big to fit in a pocket. I have an iPhone 5s that I keep in a pocket and an iphone 6plus that I use for reading and note taking. The big one stays in my purse, so that one doesn't go with me, and that's a shame since it is the one that measures flights. But this is a great app for showing steps taken. I think it's more accurate than the Up, too.
