Stunning...Yonac has brought steel guitar into everyone's sound palate

JRSIV1975

Yonac makes incredible apps and their ToneStack amp emulator is the most underrated music production app around- it smokes the glossy, licensed amp packages quite easily. This crazy Steel Guitar app somehow takes the sonic mojo that makes their amp sounds so convincing to the next level with a pedal steel sound extremely close to the real thing. For adding authentic twang to country and acoustic based productions this app is a no brainer but what's really cool are the possibilities using Steel Guitar as a tool for creating effected sounds for music of any genre. It is so easy to use, you can tune the steels any way you want and the amp & effect models in the app are very good. Update 5/2016: had to amend my review with a word on the V.2 Whole Enchilada in-app purchase. I got it on sale and man, it adds another layer to an already brilliant app. The Telecaster and Gibson P-90 sounds are so good you may be able to fool someone in a blindfold test, seriously. The app is made in my opinion for subtle slide touches, not all out fast Elmore James or Ry Cooder stuff. But for swells, cool chord transitions and effects the app is limitless. You can Audiobus it with any effect, make a custom tuning and boom, you have a sound that no synth can cop. I am amazed at Yonac again, and they are in a class by themselves anyway. This, TubeStack, Magellan, Galileo...those are essential apps if you make music with an iOS device, end of story.

Fantastic!!!

I love this app!!! Please keep it updated.

Don't abandon this one!

I'm primarily a guitarist, though not well-practiced with slide. Overall this is an impressive app. Some critiques: -No difference in timbre when picking low or high on strings. -No variability in picking force, or in pick types. -No apparent way to control pedals via midi (a midi pedalboard like Tech21's Midimoose would probably work well, though some form of expression pedals would be even better I also see it's not been updated for a couple years, so I hope it hasn't been abandoned.

Beautiful but might need a bug fix again.

I noticed lately off and on when I’m working on one of my songs or just playing the steel gets glitchy; blinks and makes a jittery kind of noise. I haven’t figured out if it’s my fingers or the app itself. It seems like it’s the app. It’s annoying when I’m trying to make my music and record it too.

Would love to try it

Every time I try to download it, it appears to download and then puts up a dialog box saying the app could not be downloaded.

Slide bar locks

Shiggles’n'Gits

Kind of hard to play steel guitar without a movable slide bar. It works sometimes but only after I stop and restart the app
