Absolute Garbage Software

Camera appears to be well designed - but the team of American redneck programmers that made this renders the entire platform useless - unable to login to even activate the camera. Pls avoid this brand at ALL costs


So difficult

The whole set up from start to finish is a giant pain. I’ve used other cell cams (spypoint) and they make it so easy. It took me over an hour to set up the camera (you have to enter your log in info to the actual camera to get it to connect to your phone which is absurd in its own right). Then after all that, the camera wouldn’t transmit pictures. After 5 days, I finally said screw it and set it out just to get some pics and then magically it started to transmit. I live just outside a major city, no idea how it had such a hard time getting cell reception. And don’t even get me started with GSM’s customer service, on hold Monday afternoon for 30+ minutes and the guy was 0 help. Finally he said let’s do a warranty exchange and oh btw return time is usually 4 weeks. Do yourself a favor and don’t buy this camera, it’s a headache from start to finish.

Viewing the photos and adjusting the remote camera setting seems to work fine, but when it comes to additional functionality, the app is pretty clunky. The upload to google drive function appears to no longer work and it does not appear that there are any easy ways to share or download the photos from the app.


A constant struggle

I’ve used this app with my STC-GX45NGW for several years now. It’s a struggle every year to get this wireless connection back up and running in the fall. Got the SIM card data reloaded, paid up. The settings don’t change in the camera... but once again the app can’t find the camera. Got the red exclamation point of failure icon. No other clues or notifications. Generally it means the app can’t find the camera. It could be a hundred different problems but all the engineers and software people at Stealth Cam can offer us a red exclamation point. For the cost of these cameras, consumers deserve better. Maybe the newer stealth cam wireless trail cams are better, but these early models are a pain. I will say once finally up and running, they do work but such a frustration.

The ability to WiFi or blue tooth to see your pictures with the app is terrible. Don’t buy.

This cam is terrible. Can’t get the software to work properly. Called for customer service. Waited over an hour for a tech. I finally get on the phone with one and she tells me that they can’t service my particular camera and was going to transfer me to someone else. Of course you know what happened. She transferred me and disconnected me and I just wasted an hour and 30 minutes. I should’ve done more research on these cameras. Stealth cam seems to have nothing but bad reviews. What a waste of money!!!!!


Would LOVE to use this camera but...

I can’t create an account!!! I’ve spent 2 hours just trying to make account and nothing. Keep waiting for confirmation email but never got. Yes I’ve checked spam folder.. taking camera back and ditching this app. Very disappointed


App makes camera worthless

I fought with the connection for a few hours. Sometimes it connects to WiFi but you can’t see the camera in the app. Most of the time it doesn’t connect at all. Sometimes you see the camera in the app but none of the photos are visible. I’m deleting the app and returning the camera.


I can’t get them to stop charging me.

We put this camera up in September and never could get the camera to take pictures or get the app to work right. We took it down and returned it to Cabla’s. I emailed Stealth Cam to stop drafting my account and they replied that I had to call a 1-800# so I have called every week and been on hold for over 30 minutes and it is impossible to get in touch with anyone. It is December and I still have not been able to get them to stop taking the electric payment out. I would give the camera, the app and the customer service a 0 if that was an option. We are paying for a connection to a camera that was returned to the store the 1st of October 2020.
