Good but too much like first version.

For $5 this is disappointing. A second version of a game should be much better. This is much too much like the first one. That being said, the first Starfall was a lot of fun and this one is better. And compared to a lot of other TD's out there this one is very good. So if you don't have the first one I highly recommend getting this one. If you do have the first one I recommend waiting for this one to go on sale. I totally love being able to speak my reviews on the new iPad not having to type anything!!!

I got sick of TD games a LONG time ago, but this is just fantastic. It has a depth of features that will have you thinking not just about tactics and strategy, but about macro-strategy, planning your persistent upgrades over endless play sessions. On top of that, this is high-quality software. Tons of little annoyances from other TD games have been smoothed out. Even if you're not a TD fan, you will immediately recognize this as a quality game. Even if you're not a gamer, if you know anything about software, you'll appreciate the work that went into this app. This is just a pleasure to use on every level. Devs of all stripes take note, this is what users like to see: a fan's respect for what's come before, a critic's honesty, an artist's mind for good new ideas, and a professional's attention to detail. If you create (software or anything else), those are the ingredients of excellence, and this game cooks them up deliciously.
No full retina display

Only some of the ships and structures look good on retina display, the rest are the old version models and look fuzzy like the base, power center and ground.
The best game you've never heard of!

Hands down, this is the best tower defense game available for the iPad. If you have the new iPad, especially, you will be impressed with the graphics and smooth gameplay. Starfall 2 has a very fair learning curve, but gets sufficiently challenging the further you go in campaign mode. Loads of unlocks, research upgrades and a large armory add to the fun. While you can always go back and replay levels in campaign mode (useful for helping you push forward), the mini-games mode provides many hours of additional fun. Well-worth the $4.99, a really nice surprise!
Can't listen to music and play at once.

Can't listen to music and play at once. And there is no reason for it. I don't want to listen to the same old boring game soundtrack over and over again. I want to listen to me music or podcasts. That's my only complaint. This is an awesome game and well worth the money. But please fix this one tiny issue.
Good game, bad software

Love the game, wish it would not keep restarting in the middle of a level. Reloaded and that does not help. Some of the stuff you can buy as you move up in levels seems to have no real value ???
TOP OF THE LINE TOWER DEFENSE

I loved the first one, and this sequel is even better. Everything is refined, there are more unlocks, more maps. Just a great great TD, and I have 37 TD games on my iPad2 and this is the best. I rarely spend more than $3 for an app, but I did not hesitate to buy this, it is worth every penny. The devs really know their stuff!
A great example of the genre

This tower defense game has tons of depth and lots of replay-ability. The unlockable maps and other content make up for the slightly less than perfect graphics. Definitely worth the money!
