Good game till recent changes announced

Good but still not 100%

I’ve had some pretty good times with this game so far. I’m nearing max level and have spent a bit of money but nothing too major. I had found a guild that began to work on completing the heroic AAT raid. We began farming the best teams for it only to have the developers drop a major nerf announcement due to insufficient testing of the new sith raid they launched. The nerfs have effects on these teams we’ve work hard to farm for content that has been out for months. Their response is that there are many other viable teams and they look forward to seeing us work towards interacting with the content. This behavior and refusal to do what’s right, spend the money to test new content properly, and then push the cost onto us the customers in to form of having to farm more characters is asinine. I’d be leery of this game going forward. Hard to judge how to spend money if you do decide to and hard to be free to play when they nerf meta teams after the big spenders have utilized them to reap their rewards. I’d be willing to edit this review to a more positive stance of positive changes are enacted to the game.

They literally steal from you

Drewoh

Imagine you buy something nice from a store. 3 days later that store has people break into your house and replace that item with a pile of garbage. That is exactly what has happened in this game. And it will happen again if you’re stupid enough to buy anything from this company.

NERFS

Pivotthrust

This game is all bait and switch. They come out with and over powering character from the new movies. Just to nerf her 3 months later.

Pay to win

Fun game. Nice graphics. Star Wars! All sounds pretty great right? The reality is that characters take a very long grind to level and gear unless you are willing to spend. Many recognize this and find enjoyment anyhow. Recently, the “cash grab” antics have gone to a new level with a poorly tested new raid. The team nerfed several characters that performed well including a difficult to obtain legendary one. This is to ensure sales of the newest pay to win locked characters they just released.

Don’t play unless you want to spend $

Louiext

This game is abysmally slow and they constantly make the game worse for those who don’t spend thousands of dollars to keep up.

Used to love this game. Spent thousands.

Paintballwizzx

I guess it’s my fault- spending thousands of dollars on something I USED to get joy out of. The part that I think is criminal, is you can buy characters and gear that are good, but then EA/CG think that it’s okay to nerf or manipulate the game somehow, rendering your toons worthless. (Not what I paid for!) Don’t believe me? Check reddit right now and see how many happy SWGOH players there are today. (3/8/18)

CG and EA at their worst

Tsao.lidah

All content and game decisions are designed with the sole purpose of selling players overpriced packed for the profit of the company. $300 for a single character is horrendous. In addition, any new content that comes out is not tested and the trust between the community and developers is at an all time low

Disappointed!

MKRAMERx82

As a player of over a year I have become burnt out from EAs evil tactics. I have probably spent 20-40 bucks when I first started playing but quickly decided I wasn’t going to spend money on this game. It was awesome playing for the first year, I believe it was fair that even If I didn’t spend money I could patiently grind for the same characters for free. Over the last couple months it seems they have changed and now it’s very difficult to play for free and they have made it more apparent that if you want certain characters you are going to need to spend money. Now they are nerfing good characters in order to make you need new ones and that comes at a price. It is very disappointing...

Predatory Pricing

Alex Trueblood

This game will frustrate you and offer you the character to solve all of your problems...for $200 - $600 dollars. That character is not guaranteed to be powerful for even half of a year. Recently they have weakened Jedi Rey because she was too good at their new frustrating raid. If you disagree with predatory pricing and the loot box model of progression, stay away.

If I could give -5 stars I would

My time with this community has been great, but the publishers at Capital Games and EA have proven without a doubt that they care very little for the players and more for the profit they can make by manipulating and frustrating the player base. If you want to play, do it f2p because no amount of money is worth it. But a car instead.
