The heavens

Love this. Have taken it boatingIn the Caribbean twice and us in New England. Have shared it with adults and kids. A great way to see the heavens.

Pretty sure I paid for this app when I first downloaded it. Haven’t used it in awhile opened it up tonight to find objects and features locked behind a paywall. Now there’s another version on the App Store that costs the $5.99 I originally paid. So I either can buy the new $5.99 version or I guess pay for a subscription to access the one I’ve already paid for. Pretty sad you can charge someone for something then make a new version so you can charge us again.

When I purchased this app. Objects like comets would be included automatically. Now when I want to look at a comet this app tells me I have to pay extra for it. I never would have bought this app if I knew they would start to nickel and dime me for what used to be included.
Informative but glitchy

Lots of great information, but the screen gets cluttered with SO much stuff, it’s often hard to discern what’s what. And the location features don’t accurately display the sky (today, with the camera on, looking directly at a full moon, the app is saying that the moon is in a completely different quadrant of the sky).

It’s not user friendly and every time I try to look for something I get directed to install yet another app. Would not recommend.

Another app that charges a lot upfront then locks features behind a paywall. I used to have the original StarWalk app and it was amazing. This is difficult to use and shows you stuff from the past. You’ll get excited because you found a meteor shower. Click on it and it’s from a few months ago. New meteor showers don’t show up and when you search for them you have to pay extra.
