Nice presentation, but repetitive gameplay.

Star Clash is an anime-style reflex puzzler where the player chain together stars and bonus icons (which can increase healing, damage, point bonuses, etc...) in order to defeat enemies. The good: The presentation and music are classic anime. The game has a simple, but clean and unique look to it. There are plenty of characters, enemies, and battlegrounds to unlock. Two modes of gameplay: Arena and Endurance (survival). There is a minor RPG element where character skills (damage, defense, and luck) can be improved via earning XP. The bad: Gameplay is very repetitive and simplistic. Also, the puzzles are random (luck factors in battles as much as reflexes). Although there are multiple enemies, characters, and environments to unlock, it becomes more of a chore to earn the credits to unlock them. Verdict: A fun game for a few plays, but can get boring fast.

Me and my 2 boys had a ton of fun playing. The gameplay is simple and really fast paced. Great for the family.
