Easily add your own word list, with your own voice and even a sentence. Or have the student set it up. I've made a list of multiplication and division facts; "2 times 4 is..." Then he spells the answer 8. State capitols will be this year. Excellent!
Lots of uses - spelling, vocab, etc.

As a classroom teacher I have been sending the weekly spelling list codes to all students and plan to add some vocabulary practice, too. Lots of uses...including letter ID, math facts, etc.

My 11 year old daughter has never been a good speller. We began using Spelling Star this year and she is 5 for 5. She loves the app.

Love this app, my 2nd grader uses it weekly and it helps tremendously! My only thing that I don't like is that it defaults to all capitals....

I use it in my classroom for my reading/writing intervention classes. I like how you use your own voice to record and set up the lists and not a mechanical voice. It does make things more time-consuming at set-up but it allows time to add a sample sentence to help understand the word in context.
Apps has a lot of bugs

The app has a lot of bugs that needs fixed. The app counts correct words incorrect. I changed my auto As they told me too. It did not matter. It is great practice, however
