No data after trip

Tucker Ryan

I went on a long trail ride, and tried to use this to track it. I made sure the privacy settings were set up to grant location access all the time. I set it to track and stashed my phone in my jacket. 5 hours later when the ride was over, there was no data. Wrote to the developer, got no response. I love this app and as far as I know it’s the only one like this. However it’s been found to be terribly unreliable when it’s needed.

I sure hope I missed a setting

I purchased this app to use with my electric bike. The interface looks nice and works well while riding, but after every trip the odometer resets back to zero. What is the point of having an odometer if it only lasts one trip and then starts at zero again? How will I ever know how many miles I put on my bike?!? I emailed the app developer. I hope they get back to me with an answer. I hope I’m just missing a setting, otherwise, I am not happy with this purchase.

Just rode 26mi w/o any response from the speedo and only recorded 4mi for the trip. Had these problems years ago, but now looks like they’re back. ?

One of my “Must Have” apps

Somps

2019-08-24 I’ve had this app for many years now. I’ve used several apps similar to this. There is another app, but it is missing several of the things this app has. One of the things this app is missing, which is the only reason I have the other app, is because that app can show your exact speed at any given time on the map that you save of your drive. Here is when I drove from Miami to Tampa using the other app. I got stopped by a Highway patrolman saying I was going 85. I said, “No, I was going 70 for a while. My car is set on cruise control.” He said, “ You we’re driving 85 mph and then slowed down after seeing my car.” I said, “No sir. That was the car that passed me that you let go.” With this app, I could save trip and then show him the map and touch anywhere along the path to display the speed at where I touched. It showed that for 20 miles, I was at 71 mph. I could see that when he stopped me, my speed went from 71 mph to 65 mph, 63 mph, all the way down to 0 mph at where I was stopped. He could have been a jerk, but he admitted that he might have tagged the other car. He asked for the app name because he thought it was cool. I wish that I could have given him this name. That is what I’m hoping can get added to this app. You can see where I slowed down and stopped by the colors on the map. That’s a great visual and I want to keep that but I would love to just use this app only. If I could bring up the map, touch anywhere along the map & see the exact speed I was going at the moment where I touched the map, even dragging my finger along the trip’s path would display the speed as I move my finger on the screen. This app is SO close already. If that happens, no need for any other road trip apps. All will be deleted. I really hope that can happen as I love this developer. Thank you Dev!

Not that good

The whole reason I bought this app was to test my speed on the Japanese bullet train. I have been on the train for over 55 minutes and it still cannot keep up. I allowed the app permission to use my gps. It shows my location on the app, so it is reading my location. Just cannot give me speed, which is the whole reason I paid for it. Is a waste of money.

Recent bug

Generally speaking, speed tracker has been a wonderful app. Only recently the scaling of the display has changed and doesn’t quite fit on my iPhone 8. This is highly disappointing. Noticing that I was using SpeedTracker lite. I opted for SpeedTracker pro. My light version had all the features paid for essentially giving me all the features I now have with pro only they took my money again for the pro version with the eight identical the same scaling problem.

Biking

Great app for biking!

Inconsistent

I tested this and on a 5 km ride it stored all my speeds as 0.5 km/h even though the distance appeared to be calculated okay. Really shoddy programming if even this basic stuff doesn’t work properly.

Just what I needed

Ken Fry

Just what I needed in a speedometer app for the right price. It records a log of my speed through the journey displayed as a graph, and a map of the route I took. It’s not like google maps that is always running and recording a vague estimate of your route; you have to remember to turn this app on and start tracking when you get in your car, but it does run in the background once it starts. I recommend this app, it works well. I bought this app after being pulled over for speeding, running this app will probably have a preventative effect for getting pulled over again, but if the police get the wrong car I’ll have proof this time.
