Just what I needed

thefirebuilds

Works as expected and the adjustability is very useful. Thanks.

Great app 1 suggestion

Thyirishmen

Awesome app love it. One suggestion. Have it save your settings. So each time I brew I don't have to change evap rate and all the static items. Then I could Just change grain size and be done. Thanks!!!!

Boil-off rate doesn't seem to work out correctly

Skydog lives

Great app for the most part. I don't think the boil-off rate calculates correctly. For a 5 gallon batch with a 60 minute boil, there should be ~ 1 gallon that is boiled off. So pre-boil should be 6 gallons. 1/6 = .166 or 16.6%. I had to set this in the app to 7% to get an accurate sparge volume or else it calculates the sparge volume way too high. Now that I'm dialed in correctly I think the app will be useful and eliminates most of the hand calculating that I've been doing.

....but way off. I would use this all the time. But the calculations must be way off. 9 gallons of water for a 5.5 gallon brew (12 lbs of grain). Seems off.

Inaccurate strike temps

Jdangle

This underestimates strike temps. I undershot my mash temp by 10 degrees and had to do a mini decoction mash to get it up to a reasonable temp. The batch will probably be fine but this added about an hour and a half to my brew day. Will not use again. Interface is fine, would love this if the calculations were correct.

Great app. It really helps me get the right volumes of water down tight. The only thing that is off is the strike temp for initial mash, but that's only because it does not put in consideration of equipment temp. After playing around with temperatures I found that heating up the water 5 degrees more than what the app suggests and I will reach my target temp.
